As a fan what would you rather have? Remember we don't take medals home with us.
Thrashing Man United 7-0 shocked the universe. Everyone is talking about it. It is the biggest humiliation in football against your biggest rivals. There is no hiding from this.
Winning a league with easy home draws and a boring final where you park bus is not going to live in the memory.
I've seen my teams win league cups and NOTHING tops what happened in the 7-0 massacre.
Have your energy drink cup. 7up to us every day in the week
7-0 or Energy drink cup?

Villa was a bad day in the office but they are not our nearest and dearest rivals like United. The 7-0 is humiliation for life.

Make it make sense

Hasn't even been humiliation for the week
Terrible result for us though, definitely.
I would argue losing 7-2 as defending champions to a team that don't even finish top half of the table, is worse than losing 7-0 to a team that could have won the quadruple against a team that just had their worst ever premier league season...

Pool fans so wound up that united fans are pretty much over it already

I would have been more miffed if it was a close game like it was for the first 45 minutes.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yep.
If we'd lost by a goal and there'd been a contentious decision or two, I'd be angry and we'd still be arguing.
But the result was so ridiculous, all you can do is laugh and move on.
I would say though that this week has shown how much better United fans are in dealing with defeat than Liverpool fans, on this forum.

A lot of wound licking going on here.
Convincing oneself that it's not so bad, but it is. This is for life. Even United's young players are now scarred and mortally wounded. We've been humping United for years now and I can see that continuing for some time. See you next season

I don't think humiliation for life is too crazy a call, depending on your age.
I still get Utd fans bringing up the 8 result that happened nearly 12 years ago, which is most of my adult life.

So when they bring that result up, do you feel humiliated?
Surely not.
Those who want to make out United fans are in some sort of pain are really just proving my point… some people are just better at dealing with it than others, and it probably depends on how you engage with football, your age and other parts of your character.
Similarly, it’s interesting to see who shows humility when they are on the winning side.
I was surprised at Souness on the weekend. Doubt Keane would have behaved like that, and I think it was almost as immature as some of the Liverpool fans on here.

You have to remember Souness has been proven wrong nearly all season with his predictions about United and the new signings, so Sunday was just an opportunity for him to let out months of pent up frustration

I think you’re right.
A lot of people don’t like him but I don’t mind him. Though he could do with holding his hands up a bit more often.
Modern pundits seem far better at laughing at themselves.

You can't get humiliated 7-0 by your biggest rival and not be in pain
