DPL v AFC Wimbledon

Wimbledon are not in good form. The question is whether they are as bad as Rovers though. When Dickov was in charge I felt that he was inflexible and although it was not the best of times I still got some pleasure out of following the team. Whilst I do not firmly believe that the current squad could be capable of better performances because their natural talents are suppressed under the predictably pedantic Schofield way of playing, it does seem a possibility.

However we shall never know unless the man buried under a heap of coaching manuals emerges and works out that the answer is not in books. It is in organising his team to play to their natural combined strengths. However, this is a vain hope as he is implacable in his methods and attractive football is off the menu.

I doubt whether we will score, so it rather depends on whether Wimbledon do. I’ll say 1-0 to them

"Let's be frank, following Rovers right now is pretty grim. Finding joy in a team that not only fails to score, but is seemingly averse to attack is no easy task." comment from the editor of Rovers fanzine. I'm with Frank.
Though I might enjoy Match of the Day tomorrow as there won't be any presenters or pundits on it. Hope it lasts.

I did not comment on the Harrogate game as I did not watch much of it as I watched Chelsea's Champions League game. Having watched the low-lights of the Harrogate game, I'm glad I did not watch the whole game.
I'm just at the point of cancelling my auto-renewal of iFollow. After 70+ years of support, I've never been so depressed.
Donaldo's earlier comment about the wrong medicine is so right - the great teams just do not have coaching book formulae.
I said earlier that my only hope (not that hope is a strategy!) was DS would be like Arteta at The Gunners. However, Arteta's background was an assistant at Man city, not a failure in lower leagues.
I was shocked when Anderson said one reason for signing a new contract was the influence on the team of Copps and DS.
Are we all on ja606 out of our minds, or just realistic?
Maybe this screed is a plea from the heart of an old man - please give me something just little to bring my passion back.
Maybe it will be a win on Saturday, so 2-1 to the Rovers with Anderson scoring from a towering header.
OK - dream on!

I'm not hopeful but will predict a 1-1 draw. Rowe with the goal if playing. If not, Hurst.

I'll go with a 1-1 draw too.
Haven't got a clue really 😕
Miller to score ⚽

No Anderson, so Rowe to score.

Schofield saved his bacon, just about. Wimbledon would probably say they were unlucky, perhaps with justification after seeming to get the better of the second half.

Seaman, rather like the lamented Alfie May, always puts in more effort than most of his team mates. I’m not sure Schofield rates hard work because he never mentions it and there seem to be too many who just coast around. It’s a good job that he has Olowu and Mitchell too who are also more hard-working than so many of them.

It’s not really entirely convincing though and application does not seem a quality that Schofield pays much attention to. No doubt holding one’s place in the formation is the kind of thing he puts more store by.

I haven’t listened to his post match interview as I reached my weekly exhaustion limit trying to make sense of his pre-match one.

I must have been in a haze of too much wine when I correctly said 2-1 to the Rovers, and having watched the highlights, I'm not sure how they managed it. OK, goalies are allowed a howler now and again, and Mitchell has saved us many times from worse results than we my have had. I did not watch the game, chosing Spurs beating the Florets over iFollow,
Maybe I should do this in the future and the Rovers will win more games!
I have braved listening to DS's after match comments, but it just convinces me more that his approach at the moment is not what Rovers need to exit League One (Upwards, I mean!)
