Hardly a surprise is it? A basket case club with no money and 10 games left to try and avoid relegation. Leicester have approached Potter and it’s just been reported that Potter has rejected the approach and will weigh up his options in the summer
Meanwhile reports now suggest Postecoglu is top of their shortlist - presumably on the basis he manages Celtic and that seemed to go well last time. I’m thinking it’s a caretaker management car crash at this rate - what a complete donut of a chairman we have
Potter Rejects Leicester

This is not surprising. There was no incentive for Potter to come and join us at this stage when our future is so uncertain. It's also understandable that he wants a break after his tough period at Chelsea.
Will he join in the summer? Maybe, it'll depend on if we stay up and what we can offer. I doubt he will be short of offers though and we are not the attractive prospect we once were.
For now, I think an interim caretaker is probably going to be the way to go. Any decent candidates will likely want to see what division we are in before committing. We are in a mess right now and it's completely fair that most will want to see how things play out. My money is on Benitez on a short term deal, or Stowell/Sadler if they get a couple of good results and the players have an upturn in performances and mentality.

Yes this is aligned to our speculative thoughts yesterday. Potter will want a break unless the right job presents itself and we just don’t quite fit that right now.
Small possibility in the summer if we stay up.
We should maintain a channel of conversation and if we scrape through and stay up the proposition could look different. If we don’t we might need a different approach anyway.

What an absolute mess Top has made of this football club. Look at the performance and resilience Dyche is getting from Everton. Glorious opportunity to have appointed him months ago wasted by the stupid belief Rodgers would turn it around.
He’s now managed the unthinkable - turning our football club from competing with the top 4 to struggling to keep up with Bournemouth in 18 facking months. You’d struggle to find a more clueless chairman than Khun Flop
The only option he really has is a caretaker combo at a broken club somehow gets a tune out of players who don’t want to be here. Can’t think Rafa will be interested How thick do you have to be to leave it until 10 games are left - no one wants you at that point

Postecoglou has apparently made it clear he’s not interested in Leicester. So both of Leicesters top 2 targets have told us to fack off 😂
What on earth were they thinking waiting until 10 games are left to make the change. They’ve now got little choice than a caretaker manager with players who don’t give a toss

I don’t think we worry about the permanent manager until the summer 99. Anyone will reject us at such a critical point in the season to see their own job through as well as wanting to see where we are next season.
The right interim appointment that can do a Dyche is crucial as you say.
We’ve left it way too late. Let’s hope we get lucky.

You’re right but can you fathom the decision making? With our financial security on the line Top is gambling everything on a caretaker duo being able to get a response from players who won’t be here in the summer. It’s akin to having lost nearly all your money at the casino so putting your entire mortgage on 26 red and just sitting there praying
I’m just ….. I just can’t believe it. Actually I can but you get the point

Why would you think that the management that oversaw a financial mess unfolding with consequent impact on transfers, and let key players run down their contracts would make a sensible decision on replacing the Manager?

I get the decision making. It was called a mistake. Top thought Rodgers could turn it around when the rest of us could see it was long broken. He should have acted sooner. It was a big mistake.

I guess you can add it to the growing list of mistakes he’s making since becoming chairman. Like the mistake of gambling on European football when finances were already constrained and leaving us broke
