There are rumours rumbling around that Todd Boehly thought that if Chelsea finished lower in the league they will get better draft picks next season.
Now that is cruel, however, we cannot ignore that he won the last two transfer windows for Chelsea with nothing to show.
There is also rumours that Enzo Fernandez 8 years contract has been extended by one year to 9 yrs total. We know come summer, Boehly will be left and centre, trying to hijack other clubs dealings.
I haven’t got a clue what is his plans but it better work or risk getting Chelsea irrelevant for a while.
I think it will take Chelsea more than 5 years to come close to CL places especially with the rise of Newcastle in addition to Arsenal, Man City, Man United and Liverpool larking.

Chelsea finished 10th in 15/16 season. Guess where they finished the next season...
Whether he is flexing his financial muscle, meeting criteria of the deal to buy the club, or just a completely mad facker, Boehly has made a complete mess of it so far. But that can be quickly turned around with the right manager and the right people around him. Hopefully he gets neither.

Gotta agree with DJ, the problems genuinely seem pretty simple to fix, Boehly has just proven himself to be incredibly incompetent so far. You'd imagine he'll get it right eventually, even if just out of sheer luck.
It might not be the kind of cohesive thinking that City or Arsenal seem to have at the moment, but should be enough to get them competitive again.

This is a very good point - don't dismiss Chelsea next season based on this one. They can have an amazing transfer plus a very good manager - sorry Frank ain't one, and the outlook will change for them
However, it remains to be seen if Todd B can have the same impact the Russian guy did.

I heard he try to buy Jorginho but realised that he was actually a Chelsea player

Dj pretty much summed it up. Besides that, you'd have probably said last season that we were miles off winning the league and few would've argued.

Totally different ownership with a totally different mindset that trickled down & defined the character of the club back then. That ain't gunna happen this time.
We might stumble onto some successes with Boehly cos he does care and might grow into being less incompetent over time because of it, but I don't see him sharing Roman's ruthlessness nor his tolerance to work with managers he didn't like personally. Think becoming a top 4 team will be the height of our ambitions for a while no matter how much we spend, but that's just my impressions right now.

How do you spend 600 million on players and still lose almost all your matches? PSG have proven that spunking money without a plan doesnt work. City have proven that spunking money with a clear plan does work.
600 million could have bought a complete new XI capable of winning the PL.
Spending 108 mil on Felix was destined to fail. I have no clue about football but even me saw that coming.

Isn't felix on loan? They signed the argy kid for around that but tbf he has looked unreal so far, in a bad team and his first season. Few of them signings may flop but I would bet that kid isn't one of them. He's a special player for sure. Felix has a high ceiling talent wise but doesn't get enough goals or assists to justify a 100+ fee atm.
Kid is young though and could easily kick on in the right team/system. No guarantees that happens though. Prob means Boehly signs him on a 9 yr deal 😂
