I mean, how we won I don’t know but we won!!!

Some key observations before I get home and drown in celebratory beer.

Soyuncu. How badly managed has that situation been and how much does that highlight some of Rodgers failings. He was immense today and MOTM.

Soumare. What happened to actual Soumare and who was this new Soumare that played today. Is there actually talent in that boy yet? Most of us were baffled by his selection but he justified it.

Tielemans. Get out of our club now mate. Thanks for everything but it feel a little sour the way you’re leaving. You’re not giving it all for the cause, go on your beach holiday and let the players that are interested actually fight.

Daka and the 11 strikers on the pitch formation. That failed drastically and we had no shape at all in the first half. When Vardy came off for a midfielder we look much more balanced. Please let’s not do that again.

But we won. It doesn’t matter how at this point, just any way. I hope Smith is learning fast who he can and can’t trust, and I hope we sets us up with a bit more balance for Leeds. How massive that game is.

Agree with most of that Mersey, but Tillemans did look like he cared at the final whistle. He ran onto the pitch to celebrate.

Agree with Mersey. Tielemans is a strange one as he's always had the vibe of someone who is perpetually disinterested and unfit, even when that's not the case. But he's clearly out of form and cost us a goal today. If we had any decent CM options who were in form, he'd probably be out the team. His mind may also be on the move, and you can't afford passengers in a relegation zone - same with Maddison. If they are not committed to the cause, a place on the bench might be required.

As for the formation, I think we should silently retire the bizarre 'everyone attack' formation that we started with. I would still like to see the Iheanacho-Daka partnership given another try.

For me I don't see Tilly as checking out, rather he's just not match fit. Which for someone who's normally pedestrian is a problem.
