Kane - Spurs fan POV

How do you guys feel on the Harry Kane front?

Obviously I'd imagine the best outcome would be that he signs a new long term deal, but assuming that doesn't happen where do you stand on the matter?

Would you prefer to keep him 1 more year, where he probably scores another 20-30 goals, but with the strong possibility that there is no silverware to show for it and then he goes for a free at the end of the season.

Or would it be better to sell him now and use that money to start rebuilding for the future?

I'd imagine the majority of fans who think he should be sold would prefer it was to a Madrid or a Bayern rather than ourselves or a Chelsea. But would you accept selling to the latter 2 if it meant receiving 100m as long as it was going to be invested into the squad?

For the record I don't think he will go to either English club as Levy will most likely price them out of it.

Has anyone considered that he could still go to City? They could play a 4231 with Kane just behind Haaland. Would be a pretty frightening prospect.

I actually think we have a surprising amount of leverage here. He's still getting enough goals every season to be a serious Shearer competitor, undisputed first choice on pens and everything. If we don't sell this summer he's only a bad season or injury away from not getting the big offers. Heck we might even win something.

I say keep unless the bids get silly. See what happens. He's not going to down tools, that's for sure. Worst case he ends up at Chelsea but if he's determined to there's nothing we can do about it anyway

If you've got the opportunity to sell to Madrid that will surely be the best scenario. If you keep him at the club all you will get is constant noise about where he's going up until January then when he signs a pre-contract with United or Chelsea the fall out from that will just completely undermine the rest of your season. Keeping him might help the new manager whoever that is in the short term but having a player especially a key player who quite frankly is the only thing keeping Tottenham a float at the moment won't help in the long term when he's trying to rebuild the team and move it away from being so dependent on one player especially if the manager only gets a three year deal if Kane stays he's lost one of those years already. It's not an easy job and it will take a number of years to reshape the team into one that has any chance of challenging again near the top of the league.

Kane at Spurs reminds me of when we had Trevor Francis at City. Great player and goal scorer, but really his goals were just covering up how woeful the rest of the team was. I think it’s last chance for him to leave, but I don’t think he will. Which I think would be a mistake for both him and Spurs.

Why would it be a mistake. Not all players are mercenaries like your lot. Do you seriously think any player would have touched City without the money?

Or maybe we should tell everybody to feck off and make him see out his contract. Yes it will cost us but the sooner "some" clubs realise that they cant have exactly what they want whenever they want because they have a lot of money.

Haaaaaaaa. CIES value Haaland at almost exactly 4 x Kane's worth, but nice try.
