Hello gents
The summer transfer window is now open and it’s safe to say that we have a hell of a lot of work to do and with no DOF in place it could very well be Levy haggling over pocket change to bring players In.
Not only do we need to bring in at least 4-5 quality players (GK, CB x2, CM) but we have at least 10 players that we need to get rid of. Now I appreciate that’s not realistic in one window but I have listed the players (in order) that I believe we need to get rid of, followed by new signings that are potentially gettable.
Out:
Eric Dier
Davinson Sanchez
Joe Rondon
Harry Winks
Japhet Tanganga
Ryan Sessegnon
Hugo Lloris
Giovanni Lo Celso
Tanguay N’Dombele
Ben Davies
In:
Raya
Guehi
Laporte
Maddison
Ndicka
Barnes
?
?
There have been plenty of players that we’ve been linked to that I don’t know much about so I’ve left them out, however I’d love to hear your thoughts and your lists on potential transfers / sales

show me an example of signing a well run club with a director of football has made where the director of football has had no input

First time you’ll see someone use United as an example of a well run club.

Omfg that list of sales and targets makes bleak reading 😂
Wtf has happened to spurs in the last few years. Looks like a list I'd expect from Leicester or west ham, before they won trophies.

its nonesense most teams are setup in a similar way.
Scouts, head scout, DOF and coach.
how they perform the tasks is the difference but they al pretty much use the same approach.
Scouts watch the players, head scouts set out the scouting, DOF goes between the scouts and the manager and sorts out the deals.
its no magic secret formula its widespread and the norm over world football now

As I see it the coach /manager says I need say a left back. If the coach does not have one in mind the recruitment team go out and come back with some options.
If the manager does not not like any of them then they keep looking. If the manager likes 1 or 2 of the options then the DOF actually handles negotiations, contracts etc.
I dont think for one second that the DOF buys a loads of players and then says to the manager sort that lot out.

pretty much.... and as I said before this is no secret formula its pretty much how most teams are set up.
The only time the coach may not be involved is when it comes to bringing in young talent not for the first team.

Depends on the club. Managerial input into transfers differs across the board. As do balances of power within the recruitment structures, especially when you consider the different types of ownership across football.
