Is this still a thing anymore? Nowadays players have nearly always been approached and agreed terms with clubs before a transfer fee has been agreed.
Have the rules changed? Didn't this used to be against the rules?

Rule T.1.2 explicitly states that “a contracted player, either by himself or by any person on his behalf, shall not either directly or indirectly make any such approach as is referred to in Rule T.5 without having obtained the prior written consent of his club”.
Oh dear.

yup thats what it says... now define what "approach" means in the legal sense here ......
go on ....

This is up there with that guy who claimed he had a referee mate at the world cup and therefore knew the rules better than the actual written laws of the game.
Perhaps they're the same person? What was that guy called? That article was outstanding

I think it might mean asking the player to meet up? What do you think it means? Going for drinks and a wee dance?

That's it. I better find that for laughs as this one has died a death. No point going over it with this guy as his imaginary friend knows better than the actual written rules and he just keeps repeating the same crap. At least Rav kept trying to find a different angle, with more hilarious consequences.
