Worrying stat

OptaJoe @OptaJoe
31 & 88 - Manchester United have faced the most shots inside the box (31) and conceded the most opposition touches in their own box (88) of any team in the Premier League this season. Concern.

This tells me the midfield is offering absolutely no protection to the defence, and any player in the box has the touch of Jimmy Saville.

I really hope this isn’t gonna be like Jose or Ole’s final seasons at the club. It’s so depressing to see this after 2 match days.

It's just a typical start for us for the past 10 years, it's not worrying any more it's just unsurprising. We'll finish somewhere from 3rd to 6th again

We've been absolutely dismal so far, no two ways about it.

And I'm not seeing too many reasons for optimism.

Yes, I do fear it's already got the feeling of a bad season. There's just so much negativity around the club at the moment.

Got to feel for Erik a bit too.

He's had Ronaldo situation, Maguire situation, the never ending Takeover, Sancho's hiatus and obviously the tail end of the Greenwood saga to deal with too. I have probably missed some as well.

The club needs a restart like no other that's for sure.

We started slowly last season, the win over liverpool in our third game ignited our season.

Arsenal and Man City created 2 big chances after 2 league games and Arsenal scored 3 and Man City 4.

Man Utd created 6 big chances and scored 1. I knew w got the worst strikeforce in Man Utd history last season. We would have scored 103 league goals with Arsenal conversion rate last season.

Ten Hag has done a miracle job but conference league strikers, even Rashford on paper should be 4th choice at best but is our main striker. Crazy we used to have Rooney Ronaldo Tevez when we dominated and now we have shocking strikers. Rashford has gone backwards in front of goal since his debut.

Rashford should have scored like 40 goals last season easily but he had a shocking conversion rate end of last season, one of the worst in football basically missed nearly every chance he had for last few months of the season whilst having near the most chances of anyone at same time. I think he was averaging like a goal every 20 shots for last few months of the season and our team similar.

It is depressing as I cannot recall a Man Utd side this creative.

I honestly think you could take a fan out of the stadium and similar age to our strikers and they all would be better in front of goal than our strikers. It is so bad to be this bad.

Our XG last 5 league games of last season was 13.68 and we scored 9 goals. Man City was 8.20 and they scored 7 goals. This season our XG 7.44 with Brighton only having more.

Last 4 league games we won ou XG wwas 12.49 and we scored 9 goals.
Man City XG 5.37 and scored 4 goals in last 4 league games of last season.

This season they had a 3.63XG and scored 4 goals while we had 7.44XG to score 4 goals.
