Leeds U21s 2 West Ham U21s 5

Bad result for the young players. Game was played at Elland Road and I made reference to the poor decision to have a very tight deadline for free tickets.

The result was an attendance of only 3,040

Only a year ago we had 21,321 fans watching the U23s.

Over 18,000 fans that didnt attend. Many young fans who do not normally get to go to the senior games. Many that will be buying plastic club shirts this season instead of Leeds. Many missed pie sales.

Get it now Elsbels?

Its bad timing for scheduling an U21 game at ER anyway, as lots of families that might have gone will be away on Summer holidays.

Btw and maybe a stupid question … is it U21 or U23s? Is there any difference in squads/competitions played?

Changed back to U21s this season to reflect the age of the players being selected by teams. That said teams can field upto 5 players, or 6 including a keeper over age players should they wish to.

There is an international cup this season for Leeds which disappeared during covid but came back last season for top flight.

The league table is restructured this season. Previously it was a top flight of 14 clubs and 2nd division of 11 but they’ve changed it to one league of 26 clubs meaning we had no reason to gain promotion last season!

2 wins from 3 games see Leeds U21s sat in 08th place
