Performances were always inevitably leading to clinical edge.

I've said this before and I'll reiterate
A thoroughly endearing squad, packed full of character and aptitude.
From the established first-choice goalkeeper Rob Sanchez (a revelation) to the importance of Caicedo and adept striker Nico Jackson approach play (going to turn into a fearsome frontman).

All the better when Badiashile, Cristo (Carney) and Reece arrive in the starting line-up going forward (post-international break).

Ending up with -
Sanchez
Reece (c) Disasi Badiashile Colwill
Enzo Caicedo
*Madling *Cristo *Palmer
Nico

(Or three man midfield with Cristo on the left of midfield)

Substitutes: Petrovic, Gusto, Chalobah, Chilwell, Maatsen, Gallagher, Ugochukwu, Lavia, Mudryk, Madueke, Chukwuemeka, Broja.
Rotational options picks itself.
* Interchangable

The harmony, leadership and strong competition for places emerging is what I'm most pleased about, more than anything else.
Every player on their toes, no complacency. See Broja & Mudryk scoring and performing at the start of the week, Nico & Sterling responding to that as pertinent examples.

Prepping, marinating and shaping up nicely for the further challenges that lies ahead and yes, I do believe team will do better than most people think in the upcoming fixtures (the rhetoric that due to perceived "tougher fixtures" team will struggle to perform and pick up lesser points than the "easier run-in" is a fallacy, football just doesnt work that way, never has. Far too simplistic and quite frankly obtuse way of thinking. Plenty of variables at play and actually I'd argue this current teams strengths and style tend to lend itself better performances & results against the so-called "tougher" sides).

Mountains will be moved. Something special developing. Core will be built. Patience.

When the times comes...in the very near future, these two specimen -

will both be starter partnership in defence once again and rightly so.

(Chalobah should in theory be right there competing as well).

Just too much talent to be where you are.
Will be climbing the table unfortunately.
