Crisis of confidence aside, yes he is.

Maguire is a better player than Lindelof, but when he’s lacking confidence he’s just a mess.

I agree with Jamie Redknapp when he said that Maguire has done well to return to form after what he’s been subjected to but he’s not the answer at a club like United.

Hopefully we can get a season similar to his 1st 2 with us as it will be needed given that it’s unlikely we’ll see much of the Varane/Martinez partnership.

His redemption arc will be complete when he scores the winner v City.

He was lucky not to concede a pen early in the 2nd half too. It would have been a different narrative then.

That goes for the entire team surely? For an hour we were shocking. As the team grew in to the match Maguire played his part, our main catalyst was Eriksen working in tandem with Amrabat.

Eriksen is proving to be a very useful impact sub. Best role for him at this stage but he’s spoken out that he doesn’t like it.

Agreed, very intelligent player. He may not like it but he gets overrun when he starts games, doesn't follow his runners. From a defensive POV he's a liability but when we're on the front foot he's useful. He and Amrabat may have the game to play together I reckon.

I only watched the first half but United were utter dogshiiit. The reason Maguire looked good is because you have 10 other men standing in or just outside your box.

Indeed. That was the issue in the first half. Sheff United having 6 or 7 around our penalty area where as we only had three or four and the keeper.
