Didn’t watch it live and not on OS yet so … :
“Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has been speaking to the media before Wednesday's game against Stoke. Here are the key lines from his news conference:
Farke is still without Djed Spence, Junior Firpo and Stuart Dallas who are recovering from their respective injuries. Leo Hjelde (achilles) has recovered and is available.
On Pascal Struijk's performances and the effect of being captain in recent games, Farke said: "He adapted well to my demands and he's played a crucial part. We don't have to talk about his skills with the ball. I'm very pleased with his development."
Farke hinted that Archie Gray could start again tomorrow and said he's not worried about his conditioning, despite how much he's played in the past fortnight.
Against Stoke boss Alex Neill, Farke has won two, drawn three and lost one with his previous club Norwich City so its a body evidence from which he will know what to expect from his opponent.
He said Neill's "handwriting are all over the team," and that his sides "play with the knife between the teeth."
Farke deliberately avoids cliched talk of Stoke on a cold Wednesday night but expects them "to finish in a much better position than they are are in at the moment" and added: "we have to be fully switched on."

Just literally published now on the OS😁

Right, listened to the whole presser now. I think Popey missed out one point I’d like to add. DF gave a glowing tribute to Coops and Bill in their attitude and support of the first 11. DF strongly hinted that due to their age, neither will play as many minutes as they’d (obvs) like. Well done DF. A big call. If we keep winning it’ll obviously be the right one👍

Just feeling slightly anxious about Stoke from set pieces. They have a lot of big, lumpy players and our defending against Norwich was woeful in this respect. Expect a lot of balls over the top for their forwards to run onto. It’s worth looking at the extended highlights of Stoke v Sunderland from the weekend. We should have too much in our locker for them, but if they score first, we could be faced with a parked double decker for the rest of the game.

Hopefully not the traditional start slow and give a soft goal away from a set play

There is no way that stoke wont have looked at the set pieces against us and not seen it as a way in..
i honestly dont think teams in this league could park the bus against us, the 6 man attack we seemed to have going on at norwich would batter any team in this league

The unusual(maybe unprescedented even) but highly effective tactics after our first goal were fascinating.
Hopefully we won't find ourselves in too many situations where it is needed and we get more controlled situations and wins. However as mentioned above if you have teams parking the bus it is one to consider as:
- With 3 points for a win there's a huge incentive to take a gamble and use our attacking talent.
- Are the opposition good enough or have clinical enough finishers to take advantage of any space?
- Once you get a goal/goals with 5 subs you can revert back to more conventional tactics.
There are shades of Stokes/Bazball used by the England cricket test team about that second half.Bold attacking play but with good technique and purpose behind it.Sometimes you have to risk losing a few to win.
