Not Mad About Last Night

I'm glad we continued to be bold with nine men. To create the chances we did with nine men is mental, on another day we could've got a result. Two extremely marginal offsides went against us, and Bentancur missed a great chance. Insisting on playing that way with nine men instills a philosophy more than any words ever will. I think the players deserve huge credit for not hiding and listening to what the Manager wanted them to do.

"Playing that high-up, It was only a matter of time before Chelsea scored."

Let's have it right, playing against nine men for half a game and not winning is a tragedy for any side, regardless of the tactics. You'd expect to be opened up sooner or later.

1v11, it was some of the best attacking football I've seen us play for a long, long time. Chelsea looked the very average outfit they are, but we were excellent.

Romero needs to learn, fast. So does Udogie, but he is young and can be given more leeway.

The injuries are a real worry, but we still have enough to win the next two games. Maddison's doesn't sound bad.

For 15 minutes you mean? Then chelsea we’re the better team from then on out
----------------------------------------------------------------------

On the balance of play 11v11 we were easily the better team overall. Our dominance was far greater than your good spells in that half an hour.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I take it this is a joke?
Chelsea had more shots, more dissallowed goals, higher expected goals, jackson missed from 6 yards out with a one on one and we caused chaos in your box everytime we went forward (leading to the pen).

Madness to say you were the better team 11 v 11. Certainly for the first 15.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

We looked like we might peg you back at 9 vs 11, Chelsea won’t make Europe
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We may not, but we will be closer than last year and that will do us. If we get a striker in January, we might.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

If Chelsea make Europe, then they will fall foul of FFP Rules. You better pray you don't.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Have you not learnt any other songs yet?

Going by what appears to be the general conscious reaction from Spurs fans today, this looks like a good arrangement for both of us.

Spurs fans are happy having lost 1-4 to a team they believe is average because the tactics were bold. We're happy to bust that kamikaze line with the pace we have as it's all we can do offensively, and take the 3 points.

Everybody wins! Same again in February?

Lots of context missing from this comment.

Talked about it a lot yesterday so I'll summarise my thoughts succinctly this morning with the context implied.

Given the team you are under Ange and the team we've been for almost two years now, tactically you're a favourable opponent for us even fully rested & fit playing with 11 men. Only reaching Man City levels of chemistry & surgical like quality will change that in the near future

Nah.

We gifted you that game, not only with the red cards but the way we lost composure and let you back into the game before it all went crazy.

Ange is relentless in the way he wants us to play and while we opened you up for 20 minutes we then lost focus, Udogie tackle, Romero tackle, and it all got very messy and we moved away from the relentless attck that we subjected you to in the beginning. CFC got back into it and then it all kicked off.

If we had kept it going we could and probably would have been 2 or 3 up at HT by which point CFC are well out of it, chasing it even more and even more open.

While many feel proud of how we performed having shot ourselves in the foot, most will also feel some regret that CFC were there for the taking and we missed a great opportunity to tonk you!

Spurs once again let down by weak mentality. For me if we had 11 v 11, spurs win.

But a couple of players couldn’t get their head tagether and as usual, spurs throw a game v Chelsea.

Same old

We started poorly and had shown signs of recovery before the first sending off. We will have to wait for the next game between us to see if you can learn from your mistakes and do better next time. We have to start better.

The irony of all these comments is that Chelsea were by far the better team at 11vs11. They went to shiiit after the penalty and still won.

Over exaggeration the other way. They started better, we grew into it by the time of the red card (had the ball in their net twice & what not). 11v11 it was looking like a high scoring draw to me, there were goals in that game for both of us.

Not wrong about us choking vs. 9 though. I can forgive that personally, young team who knew if they didn't win their @rses were gunna get fried on social media. Thankfully Spurs made it literally impossible not to win
