Typically we've lost our 2 best performing outfield players now for a couple months at least. Games likely to be missed by the pair:

I suspect VDV will not be back until well into January. Hammys are horrible things. Ankles aint much better but you can play with a knock at least.
While the CB position largely picks itself with "whoever's fit" getting the nod, we have options up front.
GLC is the natural step in. He's under performed so far but may do well if given a run.
Bentancur - Great to have the guy back and he looks off the pace but this role could suit him, maybe starting a bit deeper than Madders but he has always broken forward well. He has that accurate final ball in him too.
Deki - Seems to have the skill set to play this role. Carries the ball well, runs into the box well, good vision and decent delivery. Dont think he's ever been tried here though. Hard worker!
Gil - Tried in this CAM by Conte I think, once or twice. Would seem to have the attributes being quite mobile and agile, good tekkers, eye for a pass. Delivery not always on the mark, but maybe another one who'd benefit from a run of games, but probably think him wide left is where he'd rather be, which could push Johnson right and free up Deki.
It is what it is and we just have to get on with it now. I really think Ange is the perfect man for this situation. It wont be a disaster, it will be the same approach with just a few of the pieces moved around. Interested to see what he goes with and what the knowledgeable Spurs fans think (that excludes you Strike )

Might as well start a competition winner than Gil. Don't mind him coming on a sub if we are 2 nil up and camped in the oppo half, but starting him means him getting bullied off the ball and starting counter attacks for the oppo.
Abit like starting Kulu in the 8 role. Some fans are on another level lol.

He’d be more of a 10 than an 8. Maybe he couldn’t do the dropping deep like Maddison.
Only other options are GLC, Sarr, Biss, PEH and Skipp. Bents not ready IMO - from what we’ve seen.
Most combos of those midfielders look a bit lacking in creativity - but they could surprise.
If we’re playing limited creative players centrally, we need the wide players the create.

Bents will be fine. He plays at a fairly leisurely pace anyway. I thought he did well against Chelsea midweek.
