So both clubs over paid and got shafted. Neither player has pulled any trees up. It just reinforces the point of not paying too much for SPL players.

Because Jota could potentially be a free agent he could very well earn around £80k. But if a transfer was involved it would be for less.

na its the norm it seems Stuart Armstrong earns 70k a week after his move to the EPL.

in fact the only players that I can see that have earned under 50k from a move to the EPL from rangers and celtic are youths that were signed. From what I can see of the last 5 years 70k is the minimum paid. so the value I gave is the norm and not overpaying.

Doesnt really matter where they came from. it depends on how good they are. Bentacur is reportedly on £100k a week. Brenanan Johnson on £70k. Manor Solomon £60k

Taking these as a benchmark, Jota is probably around the £50-60k mark as a fair value in the Spurs setup.

There's no point paying over this amount because he aint worth it, regardless of what the typical ex-SPL player gets paid down south.

Loan may be but not buy.

In my ideal world we sort out the CB position this January

and then get a PEH/Skipp upgrade may be now, may be in the summer

But the main summer target being an attacking signing like Olise. 22, home grown, can play across the attacking line! Perfect.

Problem is that unless they are in their last year of contract hone grown player tax will destroy our limited levy transfer kitty. I despise the way English players are over priced. I hope our scouts do their job. We need to look for talented players who won't cost too much.

I agree, it wasnt me that brought it up.... Luya said "no way an ex SPL player gets any more than 50k a week"

Like I said he was on nearly 30k in scotland, he is currently on 200k a week.

50k a week would make him one of the lowest earners of players expected to get first team football.

If you offer 50k a week I highly doubt he will accept that. He will want to leave to play football and if your paying him 50k a week at spurs your basically telling him that you dont think he will feature all that much.

I would expect you to have to at least double that offer

Forest will inevitably be linked cos it was Nuno that thought he was worth £25m and £200kpw in the first instance and will understand better what it would take to prise him out of Al-Ittihad whilst Levy d;cks around until Feb.
