I actually like the idea for dissent.
Anyone approaches ref but captain= sin bin.
They won't make it that simple tough. Will over complicate it and it will be an utter mess

I'm not against the use of the sin bin per se
Having played hockey for a long time and then refereed for a spell, the sin bin is very effective. Same as in rugby.
The issue in football is referees are not treated the same by players and fans. In hockey and rugby when a ref speaks the players listen and the fans more or less accept it. In football they argue back.
The thing is in Hockey and Rugby the sin bin use is consistent. As ginger said we can't even get consistency in basic decisions in football without effectively giving a team a 10 minute advantage.
I'd set clear reasons for a sin bin-
cynical fouls
clear diving
time wasting
The rest of the rules can stay as they are
I'm also happy they are calling it a blue card. It's always the blue things that ruin it for everyone else

Ice hockey, or the girly one? I like that they give penalties for tripping, but if the guy fouled tries to make it look worse he gets 2 minutes for embellishment. It's taken a lot of the diving out of the game.

Consistent application of the rules results in behavioural change.

Y'know what else is pretty cool about the NHL version of VAR? It goes to a panel of refs in NYC <spit> (Montreal used to be the headquarters of the league) But I've never heard of them fvking up off-sides and stuff the way SPFL manages to consistently.

The way the EPL use it is far better but then again they’ve a few years of practice in ahead of us. Interesting to note that even they now don’t believe it’s yet working properly and plan a major overhaul for next season.

I see Sterling’s appeal to have his red card rescinded has been rejected as well. Not a surprise.

John Eustace on the verge of taking over from Jon Dahl Tomasson at Blackburn
Tomasson's future is uncertain with the Dane expected to leave Ewood Park
PUBLISHED: 13:32, 8 February 2024 | UPDATED: 19:21, 8 February 2024
John Eustace is closing on a return to management with Blackburn Rovers.
As Mail Sport revealed, the Championship club are in the process of finalising the departure of coach Jon Dahl Tomasson and his assistant Remy Reijnierse.
The Danish manager is believed to have offered to resign with Rovers mired in an eight-game winless Championship run.
Just one season after finishing seventh, the side are currently languishing 18th in the table.
The club did not allow Tomasson to appear at his press conference prior to Saturday’s 2-1 defeat by QPR and it is thought that his 20-month tenure will soon be over.
