I think a lot of it is ability, half that squad (at least) is simply not very good at football.

We won El Sackico last time we played in it.

It's almost a blessing to lose this one so the delusions can be stopped once and for all.

Recruitment has been poor at United. Some of that is Ten Haag's fault and some of it isnt - I see it as Ten Haag not being able to sign players he identified as first choice, and that his 2nd choice players have been bad signings.

For me it's not player ability. They don't start for their country because they're sheet for their club. If you look at all United's signings the last decade or so they have all been very good before joining the club. United are a graveyard for managers and players. They can turn anybody into a donkey and they've proven that over and over since Fergie left.
