Thanks for filling in for me. The weekend drinks and subsequent work load caught up with me!
Wow…maybe I should take a time out more often! What a week it’s been.
Fulham:
The Good: Nuno listened and his prayers were answered. No Origi and Sangare starting please!
The Bad: Our set-piece defending? That’s all I can think of.
The Ugly: The atmosphere. It was utterly terrible 😉
Special Mention(s): Everyone. The fans, Nuno and the players. Superb from start to finish.
The Last Time we played Spurs (H). A 2-0 loss (no Awoniyi, no Wood and the last game of Cooper’s reign)
Turner
Boly Murillo Niakhate
Williams Yates Mangala Kouyate Toffolo
MGW Elanga
This was Cooper’s last throw of the dice, with 8 of the surviving 22/23 team unable to get a result against 10 men.
Proposed Line-up:
Sels
Williams Omobamidele Murillo Aina
Danilo Yates
MGW
Elanga Wood CHO
Subs:
Turner, Niakhate, Montiel, Toffolo, Dominguez, Sangare, Reyna, Ribeiro, Origi
Injuries: Boly, Tavares & Awoniyi
Cheering on Derby: You can do it!! 😂
Form:
Spurs (H) - W5 D0 L1 GF14 GA8 - 5th (3rd in the Home Form table)
Forest (A) - W1 D2 L3 GF9 GA11 - 17th (12th in the Away Form table)
Their wins have been against; Luton, Palace, Brentford, Brighton and Bournemouth.
Their loss was against Wolves.
Not quite so formidable as it first appeared.
Prediction:
If we play to the same level as we did against Fulham, anything is possible.
A draw would be fantastic. A win? Incredible!!
Let’s just go and play our game.
Final Words:
Anything here is a bonus. Let’s climb that table!!!

The difference is Spurs subs have made a difference, where as ours have just maintained the status quo.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nunos subs have been poor. We needed energy and more directness but Origi is a passenger. Nominee why we bring off Wood,. Spurs looked worried when we were attacking.

Can't help but wonder what would,d have happened if Maddison had been sent off for the punch on Yates. Another interesting VAR decision against us

We had a good period of 20-25 minutes at the end of the first half, but after not taking the chances we had, we were punished.
From about 50 minutes onwards we were quite poor, and seemed to run out of ideas and energy.
3-1 was about what i expected, same score as last season, but there aren’t too many positives to take from this. We are out of the drop zone on goal difference, with six games to go, it’s definitely going down to the wire.
Everton should get there latest points decision any day now, but even if it was 5 points, they’d only be one behind us, and we have to go there.

Danilo clears the ball and gets a yellow. Ridiculous decision.

I thought the ref was more inclined to give a yellow to Forest than spurs. Porro on CHO should have been a yellow.

Spurs are easily a top eight team and it showed today. At best we are mid-table. Hopefully we have some signings lined up for the summer who are better than what we have.

Totally agree with both statements above, too a point, i am not sure we have moved into the mid-table league yet, i still see us in the bottom six as we stand.
At least we are starting to see the team as a bit more of a unit, and less as 11 individuals.
Our problem is, we are not taking the chances when they do come along on a consistent basis, and are being punished when we do make mistakes.
Don’t know about you, but i think its going to be a nail biting run in.

We competed well and had Wood’s goal gone in it could’ve been a different game.
Definitely didn’t embarrass ourselves and a lot of positives to take when playing the 4th placed team away.
Everton will drop below us today with the points deduction. We’ll beat Wolves, they’ll lose to Chelsea.
Game on at Goodison Park.

What is the point of VAR, it doesn’t seem capable of getting any of the major decisions correct.
At 1-1 Maddison QUITE CLEARLY punches Yates in the midriff, how on Earth can VAR say thats ok, just have a word and carry on, yet you can be sent off for many insignificant offences. Surely a clear punch has to be a RED card, guess we’ll be getting YET ANOTHER apology from the PGMOL.
Nuno won’t need wallpaper, he’ll have enough of those to cover every inch of the office.
Week in week out we get really poor VAR decisions, next week should be really interesting as Wolves get as many bad VAR decisions as we do, there probably won’t be any.

The VAR decisions generally occur v the top 10 teams. Expect a few v City, but we should be ok outside of that.
The punch should have been reviewed. You could see Yates saying just go and watch it…but, that would have ruined Spurs chance of getting a CL spot.
Six points are possible from the next two games. Win those two and we just need a win from the last three games.
I’m confident we can start climbing the table soon.

You know its bad when the MOTD team agree with Nuno. What I don't get is Roy Keane moaning about Yates when Yates is no where near as bad any player from the big six when it comes to diving for free kicks and penalties.
