Forest v Wolves - Match Thread

From the high of beating Fulham, to the low of losing to Spurs. Not that we deserved to win, or were likely to, but the points would have been greatly appreciated.

Spurs:

The Good: In spurts, we played well, but it looked more like damage limitation in the end.

The Bad: Maddison should have been sent off.

The Ugly: VAR impacts a game v the Top 6…again.

Special Mention(s): Wood continues to defy his age, but not my expectations…as I thought he was largely terrible until Nuno came in!

Last Time we played Wolves (A). 1-1 - Toffolo for us, Cunha for them.

Turner

Boly Murillo Niakhate

Williams Yates Mangala Kouyate Toffolo

MGW Elanga

Proposed Line-up:

Sels

Williams Omobamidele Murillo Aina

Danilo Yates

MGW

Elanga Wood CHO

Subs:

Turner, Niakhate, Montiel, Toffolo, Dominguez, Sangare, Reyna, Ribeiro, Origi

Injuries: Boly, Tavares & Awoniyi

Cheering on Derby: Maybe they can’t do it!! 😂

Form:

Forest (H) - W2 D1 L3 GF9 GA8 - 17th (14th in the Home Form table)

Wolves (A) - W2 D2 L2 GF7 GA9 - 11th (8th in the Away Form table)

Wolves have lost 2 (Newcastle and Villa) of their last 3, drawing against Burnley 1-1 in their last Away game.

Prediction:

It has to be a win. Our home support and the MGW derby proving too much for the baying Wolves.

Final Words:

3 points..has to be the bare minimum here!!

Given another poor striker two easy goals!!

You can count the crosses we put in on one hand. We get in good positions in the wing then seem to check back rather than stick it in the box. At least need to mix it up

Origi is such a waste of a player. How many more points can he cost us

Wolves were there for the taking but poor finishing and then Origi copping out of trying to score. two soft goals to give away just makes it worse.

Yeah he is useless. Not sure why Nino would bring him on really.

I don’t understand why there is barely any added time in injury time. Wolves players on the floor for at least 2 mins of that injury time. That has happened so many times this season!!

They were wasting time from the moment they scored.

21 goals conceded from set plays will kill any team, that along with bring Origi on gives us no chance. Our only hope is the three teams below us are more tragic/wasteful than we are. Another 2 points tossed casually into the bin, we are sleep walking into the championship.

Watching the game and it feels like déjà vu. We're still struggling with the same old issues—defending set pieces, especially corners, is a nightmare. Every missed chance upfront just ramps up the pressure even more. And I've really got to question some of Nuno’s choices today; the subs, especially Tavares coming on at such critical moments, just didn't seem to help at all. Watching Origi and Yates out there, struggling to make an impact, makes me think it's time Dominguez starts. The game against Everton will be tough and I just feel that Luton have more fighting spirit and the teams they are playing are on the beach.
