Robin Hood v a Country - Match Thread

Only 10-1 to win at home. Get yourself on that bet!

Let’s be honest, this is his excellence of free hits. Thanks to Liverpool’s late season capitulation and Man City’s exit to the other best team in the world, this is a must win game for both teams.

Who will win out?! 😂

Everton:

The Good: We didn’t play at our best, but we could have had 3 penalties. Not very often you hear that.

The Bad: A poor game for Taylor (the ref).

The Ugly: Just what was the agenda this time? Not one of the penalties looked at. Could it be a PGMOL directive? Could it be bias? Could it be incompetence? Well, the audio would tell the full tale…if the third incident hadn’t been lost…in 2024. Probably bias, incompetence and a directive then.

Special Mention(s): Everton…good on them for taking advantage. Although, it turns out they didn’t need the hand of god to stay up after all.

The Last Time we played City (A) L2-0 early goals for Foden & Haaland, before a Rodri sending off.

Turner

Aina Aurier Boly Niakhate Tavares

Dominguez Sangare Mangala MGW

Awoniyi

Proposed Line-up:

Sels

Williams Niakhate Murillo Aina

Danilo Yates

MGW

Elanga Wood CHO

Subs:

Turner, Omobamidele, Montiel, Tavares, Dominguez, Sangare, Reyna, Awoniyi, Origi

Injuries: Boly

Congratulations to Derby: Although they unfortunately won’t play Huddersfield.

Something else for the Terriers to pin to the wall then…

Form:

Forest (H) - W2 D2 L2 GF10 GA8 - 17th (13th in the Home Form table)

City (A) - W5 D1 L0 GF16 GA6 - 2nd (2nd in the Away Form table)

Prediction:

This time last season we got a point after an amazing series of passes led to a late Wood equaliser.

This time, City don’t have a treble to aim for. Just the double. Modern football…don’t you just love it! It’s just so…unpredictable.

Keep the GD down or pray for a point? Maybe save your prayers for a points return (no chance) or a win v S.United, which I believe will be enough to keep us up.

3-1 to City.

Final Words:

Really looking forward to this season ending!

Excellent save by Seles, now it looks like Murillo has a groin problem, will be a massive loss if he goes off.

Let’s just shut up shop now, don’t concede anymore.

I just hope we play like this in the last 3 games. Much better apart from the finishing.

Nuno must really NOT rate Sangare, £32m+ and he doesn’t even bring him on, seems really strange.
We chased him for ages, paid a small fortune, and he just warms the bench, very strange.

Just as i type the above, Sangare replaces Boly, who has been immense, imo.

It’s fair to say we gave a good account of ourselves today, but unfortunately not good enough to gain a point. I said earlier, if we were to lose, we needed to keep it down to two or less, so i guess we’ve achieved.
Imagine if we had been any good in the final third, what might have happened.
If you can’t keep a clean sheet, and can’t score at the other end, you’re going to struggle.
We really need 7 out of the last 9 points available to survive.
Whilst its do able, we will need to improve, particularly in the final third.

You had the better chances, should have got something out of the game.
Our former players Aina and Hudson-odoi were brilliant, annoying they leave with nothing.

Working so only saw intermittent flashes of the game. But Forest seemed up for it , pity we couldn't muster the same fighting spirit for lesser opponents. They now have 3 big opportunities to make matters right.

Forest played well against a City team that looked like they were going through the motions. But how Boly managed to avoid a yellow card is beyond me, including charging Ederson, when you can see from his head position that he is not going for the ball but just charging into the goalkeeper to injure him, which he did. At least another 2 yellow card offences went unpunished.
