Breaking: UEFA approves Manchester United and Nice to compete in the Europa League “following the implementation of significant changes by the concerned investors" in Nice to show no one has “control or decisive influence" over both teams
UEFA says Man United-Nice and Man City-Girona “will not transfer players to each other, whether permanently or on loan, directly or indirectly, from July 2024 until September 2025, with the exception of pre-existing transfer agreements" before they investigated ownership issues

So it looks like we won’t be signing Todibo this window, but as expected we’ll be allowed to play in the same competition as Nice.

But don’t go swapping players with each other you cheeky lil rascals. *wags finger*

What happens after Sep 25 anyway, if the same owner still owns both clubs? Why is it allowed then, if the clubs are in same comp again.

If we want really want Todibo, just transfer him to Lausanne in Switzerland, then transfer him to United.

Time for Jim to sell the Utd back to the glazers and then maybe allow us to sign Todibo in the summer.

This is daft. How can you say no one has “control or decisive influence" over both teams, allowing them to play in the same competition, but then not let them sign players between clubs? It’s completely contradictory.

I reckon there's more to come here.
In an extreme example what's stopping them sacking Todibo and allowing him to join Utd as a free agent?

Technically Jim doesn't own Utd outright yet. He's only a shareholder.

That's Nice.

I really don't get the banning of transfers due to being in the same competition, when said competition hasn't begun yet and no draws have been made. It's not like it would be to give one club a walkover against the other when the chances are they won't meet. It's just stupid.
I'm totally against multi club ownership, for the record. But if you're going to allow such anticompetitive arrangements to exist, then there is no point in adding in illogical, token gesture rules after the horse has bolted
