Left foot, right foot, headers, pens, free kicks, goals, assists, big teams, small teams. What a player we have on our hands, best player I'm the league for me with his consistenct, importance to the team and all round ability to do everything. I genuinely feel the only thing he lacks is true pace but with his intelligence and timing he more than makes up for it. If he carries on like this we're not only looking at a chelsea great but a premier league great. That 40 mil is looking cheaper by the day.

Palmer emerging as awesome and better than Foden has really stuck a rocket up Boris's backside.

Somehow he wanted to join bottom half Chelsea when he had a ready made path to the treble winners Man City first team?
Yeah OK

Foden's a completely different sort of player, there's no reason both of them can't play in the same England team.
Due to injury, Foden hasn't even started a game yet this season but apparently people think he's finished.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think people are judging based on what he brings to England and time and time again Foden doesn't turn up for them.

Plenty of good players have been here

and Pep is furious...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes, he was seething when he collected his League Winners Medal.
---------------------------------------------------
Could've said the same thing about Mourinho in 2015 after we'd sold De Bryune & Salah for chicken change.
A balls up is a balls up at the end of the day. You shouldn't have sold him let alone for just 40mil, that was a mistake.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He wanted to leave, it wasn't like by was dragged out of the gates by the balls.
----------------------------------------------------
Nope, he wanted to stay. He even offered to go out on loan (something KDB wasn't willing to do when we sold him).
Hindsight is showing you should've prioritized him cos he's good enough & has age on his side.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He asked to leave, Pep has stated that dozens of times and always stands by the fact that the door is always open to players who wish to go elsewhere.
He played (and scored) in both the Super Cup and the Community Shield just before he left - It wasn't like he was out of favour.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He asked to stay, but go on loan. Pep said no, the choice is stay or go, no loanoption.
So for example, had Pep been more flexible, and actually allowed a loan, then Palmer would probably still be at City.

Yeah Pep said stay or go, no loan, and he went "alright, I'll go then"
There was a pecking order that he wasn't happy with, he wanted to stay & play for Man City. My point is Pep made a misjudgement on that pecking order.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think the misjudgement was not giving him the loan option.

It was criminal how little game time Southgate gave Palmer in the Euro's.
Every man and his dog knew he was on fire.

Now the tournament is history tho, it's fecking disgraceful how successive England mangers have picked injured/out of form players.

This, no time like the present.
I know its not football, but could you ever imagined the suits at the ECB giving an English Tandulkar his debutvat 16? They'd have waited until he was 30.
