Mads had a groin injury - so that’s likely to be Ward in goal for the next game. Can’t see us getting a point until Jan - and then it becomes a big uphill task for Ruud.
What a circus we are

I've been terrified by the prospect of Mads getting injured. Now it's come to pass. It's going to be a miserable Christmas football wise.

It was terrible enough just listening to the radio commentary yesterday without resorting to this page to pick up on the post mortem.
One of you kind chaps, probably Blacksy, could put me in the picture regarding our current goalkeeping situation. I gather Danny Ward may not be up to the job (still), but you will tell me otherwise. We have 2 other ‘keepers out on loan, is that correct? Are City likely to be recalling either or even both of them, assuming they are capable of attaining Premier League capability? Or is a decent ‘keeper on RVN’s shopping list in the New Year?
All the while, this subject was never discussed on the radio yesterday, or at least I must have somehow missed it if it was. It seems to me that this is now a matter of great importance.

Talking of ‘goalies’, how fitting should it be that I first saw City in ‘live’ action on this corresponding weekend 57 years ago (2 years later than I should have done) and, by stark contrast, the ‘keeper saved our skins that day.

Yeah so as I understand it I think it’s a choice of Ward or Iversen as our other GK (who is the best no.2) is still in recovery from a broken foot. I think I’m right with the fact that Iversen may be available but I suspect Ruud will feel like he has no choice but to go with Ward
To be fair - the over reliance on Mads is part of the problem here. We aren’t dealing the main issue. No keeper should be facing 30 shots against West Ham at home and 27 shots against Newcastle away. I think to be honest - what this injury may do is focus on the issue at hand - namely that we have a back 4 that isn’t fit for purpose and a defensive midfield that doesn’t function without Ndidi
Ruud has to focus on defensive structure. We’ve looked better since he came in but James Justin is the source of a lot of problems and that has to be addressed
So yeah losing Mads is pivotal - BUT we have a bigger issue that needs addressing in Jan

Yep. I think to be honest, if Mads and Fatawu are out for a significant period, then without investment in January there’s really nothing any manager could do. I include Cooper in that. While he wasn’t getting the best out of the squad he had - his hands would have equally have been tied in this situation

We seem to constantly have multiple players out injured since moving to Seagrave , in this just a coincidence ?

I don’t think so. Seagrave is virtually a leisure complex - does make you wonder if players spend more time playing golf than they do recovering after matches. No one knows of course but the injury problems have been stark since we moved there compared to our record under Ranieri, Shakespeare, Puel etc
Rodgers used to cop all of the blame for it - but it’s pretty clear now there’s something else at play

O Neill just sacked at Wolves, that will make Sunday even harder now.
Seems that everything is now conspiring against us.
Looking at fixtures it's going to be a bleak Christmas and difficult New Year.
Reading comments on here all I can think of is dispondency.
How far we have dropped in a few years.

The Gary O’Neill one is hard to call. When we sacked Cooper we were worse under a caretaker manager against Brentford. Don’t think Wolves will appoint this week so it may not affect us as badly as we think.
Longer term it’s bad news for all 3 promoted clubs because I think Wolves have more quality than we do and will stay up.
