Slot - top of the league
Iraola - Bournemouth currently 6th heading into Christmas.
Yet another reminder of what could have been for us. Both natural successors to Bielsa - obviously didn’t join because of the timing and our circumstances ____ both of these would have suited us and taken us to the next level.
Anyway, who cares we got Farke who is still learning how to win away from home in the championship and how to play against championship relegation scrappers when they put 10 behind the ball .
Something like this could only be written for a team like Leeds. Will we ever change?
We Farked it with Slot and Iraola

......and we are 2nd with farke

Afternoon all🌞.
My take on this: I’d be genuinely interested if anyone knows how close (if at all) we were to getting Slot or Iraola … if I recall at the time we were mentioned with them, I got the impression from snippets of reporting (bs?) that they were holding out for a better opportunity elsewhere. Anyway, whatever occurred, here we are now with DF and I agree that if he gets us up this season, he gets the gig in the EPL until he proves he’s not capable to keep us there (if we don’t get promoted this season he has to leave).

wtf have I come back to
The point wasn’t about having a go at Farke ffs nor was it about the fact that slot would have taken us to a European place
Point was about two quality managers we COULD have had had we been abit smarter off the field. Yes Bielsa got sacked but had he gone before Christmas we’d have had one of these two in and I genuinely think we’d be in a better place.
Stop getting ya knickers in a twist lads - it’s Christmas (I don’t even celebrate it and I’m more jolly than a few of you miserable gits . )
Also did someone compare me to Donn earlier ?? That’s defo a new low for me …..

A14... another article I'm not really understanding the point of?
A successor to Bielsa?... he was sacked because we were getting pinged, our squad relying on bang average players, we simply didn't recruit properly for our 2nd season in the premier league.
you're not suggesting we were going to bag Slot with an average squad and a relegation battle, no European football?
and if we were in a position high up in the premier league, decent squad, Bielsa wouldn;t have been sacked in the first place,.
you can't make up an entirely parallel universe and say we didn't replace Bielsa properly ?
or have I missed something?

Slot said himself that he would have come to Leeds had the time been right.
"Leeds is a very nice club," Slot told ESPN earlier this week. "In the middle of the season, with still so much to play for here, I didn’t think that was a good time to leave for England. It was also better from a family point of view to stay here for a while”
Honestly thought this was common knowledge amongst Leeds fans hence a few assumptions made whilst writing the article

I was a big fan of getting Slot, a little less enthused by iraola but it was common knowledge we werent getting either. But to bring in ted lasso, sorry ive blocked his name from my memory even though hes my national coach, was a disaster that set us back.

Slot and Iraola were lined up as Ted replacements not Bielsa replacements I think. Both were interested in coming, it was mid-season and a relegation battle that did for them,
Mont, Ted’s been doing pretty well as a your national coach.

fair play A14, yeah maybe I went in on you a bit there... having said that, I'm very much doubt he actually meant he would 'manage' Leeds, I just can't see anyone thinking oh yeah I'll take a club with limited funds, more than likely a relegation battle next season over a champions league squad.
any rest assured A14, you're never a Donn .. if I'm honest, a little 'agreeable' to save face sometimes, but that would never stop me enjoying your posts (on the whole)
on a different note, ref Slot, does anyone think Slot started a bit too well here?.. I really can't but think Liverpool have ridden a lot of luck with Slot so far... I do think things even out over a season I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Liverpool have a nightmare Christmas period.

If the timing’s right it’s clearly possible that Leeds in the Premier League can attract a manager from Feyenoord or Rayo Vallecano.
Just like most other Premier League clubs. The money and popularity make it very attractive.
And both managers made it pretty clear they were more than tempted.
Had we made the move before the start of the season when we should have sacked Marsch they would have come. Had we done it before the World Cup they probably would have.

Thanks guys - some fair comments on top.
