Wolves v Manchester United Match Thread

📆 Thursday 26th December 2024
🕒 5.30pm
🏟 Molineux

The first home of a new era (these eras seem to be coming along with increasing regularity these days) and it's the red devil's in town for a boxing day clash with a distinctly Portuguese flavour to it.

Ruben's reds come to Molineux on the back of a home thrashing by Bournemouth, whilst we rejoice in the glory of an away victory at Leicester with hope if not a little expectation that Vitor Pereiera is going to continue to make us harder to beat than his predecessor did.

United do though possess more dangerous attacking threats than Leicester even when they refuse to play together as a team. A disciplined team performance could be the key to this one despite the fact that neither side have shown many signs of being able to deliver one.

RAN could return after his ban (does he replace R Gomes though? ). No news on Cunha's suspension as far as I know.

I'll take a 1-1 but who knows, could go anyway this one. Anyway, merry bloody Christmas one and all

Well played Wolves, a fully deserved win

Who says 3-4-3 can't work in the PL eh.

Good to see someone being gracious in defeat.

Hafi storms it with X💩

This is the worst Man Utd squad in living memory

A huge improvement over the last home game, I know it's not unusual for our lot to perform much better against the bigger clubs but even that hadn't been happening under O'Neil. Much better shape, more compact yet players finding space better. Thought everyone played well but Cunha was outstanding and Guedes not far behind him. Thought Toti had a really good game too. And that second goal was so so sweet. Almost as much as going straight from the ground to a family do with my two Man U supporting brothers.

Happy Christmas!

So if we round up the XGs it's a 1-0 win to Wolves.

Considering where we were a handful of days ago our improvement has been quite something. A long way to go of course but honestly, it is clear we are not the same shambles of a week ago already.

Yes early days but if we keep a clean sheet at Tottenham I'll start to believe.

Largely cut out going to away games nowadays but going to Spurs on Sunday. Thought I was going to end up going just for the beer but maybe now we can get a result. Likely we’ll concede a goal or two there but likely we’ll get one or two ourselves so who knows

The fact Don Vito is only 3 points behind O'Neill's tally already speaks volumes

Were going to take some losses but the key will be how he gets us to bounce back. But we're in touch now with a handful of teams above us and you can't ask for more than that

Just looked at our record against Spurs since we got back to the Premier League. We've played 'em 6 times away and won 4, lost 2. So who knows?

I’ve see us play Spurs away 4 times in the Premier League. 3 times at the new stadium and once at Wembley. We won every time
