Farke's made no secret he wants a 10. Wanted one
in the summer window. Didn't happen. Aaronson has
played there and done well. But, it's clear Farke is
looking to add a 10 to rotate with BA.
So far, we've been rumour/click bait/prognosticator
linked to the following:
Buendia - Farke wanted him in the summer. Kinnear
sort of confirmed that. Re-habbing after injury. Can't
get in the high flying Villa team. Might be a perfect
fit on loan. Rotating with BA. Knows Farke's system.
Experienced older head at this level.
McAteer - Helped Sheff U win promotion and go on
their FA Cup run. Exciting player. Young but has shown
he's not afraid of the big stage. Intelligent and could
fit in here. Loan signing. Maybe look at loan to buy?
Louie Barry - Tearing it up at Stockport. Villa recalling
him in January to send him out to a Championship
club for more experience. Loan only. Plenty of suitors
for him. Not sure Farke or the club would risk a player
move who hasn't done it at this level or above.
Christian Eriksen - No links. This is a guy I've wanted
us to take a look at for a while. 32 and yes, he did
technically die on that scary day. However, he's more
than fit and capable of bossing games at our level.
Savvy player. Good at set pieces. Not afraid to shoot
from distance. Tons of experience. Could be a great
fit for Farke. Would love it. Doubt it happens for us.
But, it looks like Man U are ready to let him go.
Wild Card - the club's more than capable recruitment
team have a 10 up their sleeve that will come out of
nowhere a la Tanaka. I can see this being the case.
Farke's had a glint in his eye every time he's been
asked about the 10 and our January window. I'll be
shocked if he doesn't get his 10.

I think with Aaronsson doing well, am not certain, they will go for anyone.

He's done really well. But what happens if God
forbid he gets injured? Farke doesn't seem that
up for playing wingers or Piroe in the 10.
It could be risky going with what we have. But,
if Farke is happy to do that, so be it.

I am. He's still more than capable of adding
something to a club at this level. Him rotating
with BA (coming off the bench) is a risk I'd
be up for. I understand I'm probably alone
in thinking that.

True Germany. The recruitment team have proved
themselves after last summer. Fantastic job.
Tanaka is the signing of the season. And I include
every other Championship club. That price for this
player is crazy good.

Agreed. At Prem level. But, the gulf between operating
in the Prem and in the Championship is massive.
I still think - again, this is me, it won't happen - he
could offer plenty off the bench for us.

There was quite an interesting section on don't go to bed just yet about January signings which basically noted that when it comes to them.
Premiership players don't tend to work out, whereas championship players moving to other championship clubs work out more often.

My Christian Eriksen idea was as a loan until end
of the season only. No way I'd sign him perm.

That's interesting. I've thought for a while why
don't we as a club look at players in L1. Rather
than always looking to European leagues.
There's a few players in L1 look good. Maybe
worth looking at. BA is clearly our first choice 10.
And he's having a really good season.
I think we only need a back up for him in January.
Maybe Louie Barry is the best option there. He's
probably not joining a Champ club expecting a
ton of starts. The lad needs minutes. He could do
a good job spelling BA when BA needs a rest.
