Muani to Juventus agreed - what now ?

Romano has given the 'Here we go' to Juve signing Muani who was considered our top target.

Honestly when I've seen him I've not been overly impressed,so not gutted but he may have been the best available in this window.

Where do we go from here ?

Werner now Injured, odobert out for a long while...

Let's hope we have something up our sleeves but seems our top target has slipped away..

Apparently he's getting 200k pw AFTER tax. So we'd pay £400k plus a fee. Is he that good? I don't know.

It doesn’t matter what we think. It’s what Ange thinks. If he thinks he is, we should sign him. That’s backing the manager. If Ange said no, fair enough.

Go for these instead:

David
Dorgu
Luiz
Hancko

That's part of my problem with Levy. Manager after manager is forced to compromise on targets based on realistic financial constraints other clubs tend to ignore, all to align with a set of rules that, with the right set of lawyers, can be circumvented. Sticking this closely to PSR only works if PSR is water-tight, but it's not.

Whether we think Muani is good player or not is irrelevant. Ange clearly likes him but financial restrictions have stopped us getting him the same way Bruno Fernandes was ignored in favour of the fractionally cheaper Giovanni Lo Celso. Buy cheap, buy twice.

Now it's more than likely that Muani himself wanted CL football and playing for a club like Juve is far more prestigious than it is for us but that's what financial incentives lure. Are you telling me that if Chelsea were in for him, they wouldn't have got him? Of course they would. They'd promise him a lucrative package from next season providing a deal can be struck with PSG. It's about money at the end of the day.

Do we actually know that?

Chelsea have attracted plenty of players without champions league. Because they pay the wages.

That's a no then?

Not a Levy fan AT ALL. But got to massively disagree about the comments complaining here. Honestly, why the fk would he come to apurs over juve. It’s one thing missing out on a target cos we won’t pay to a similar level team or them just staying at their club. But to lose out to juve is normal.

Also the guy is nothing special. If we signed him and he sucked, on huge wages and fee then everyone would complain.

Also, didn’t levy sanction big wages for werner who is a squad player? You could argue that’s ambition based on the same strawman argument being used here. (Werner was a joke signing that loads wanted)

What financial restriction. Stop making stuff up.

He chose Juve over Spurs. Only the most deluded or arrogant would think that Spurs are a bigger draw than one of the biggest clubs in the world.

Instead of seeing this obvious sense, you create some made up garbage to fit your narrative

Nowhere is reporting that Spurs could not or would not afford the deal. Fab Romano said the opposite, PSG accepting both approaches from Juve & Spurs and he chose Juve.

Sorry if you get upset that im calling out your BS

Let's be clear, both arguments are possible and we'll never really know the truth.

Let's just see how the rest of the window goes and into the summer. If we buy some real, established PL proven names to balance out the youth then fair enough but I'm calling it now. It won't happen. Before anyone says it, Solanke is borderline because he only really had one standout season for Bournemouth. He's a good player but I'm talking about the type of talent like a Neto who was truly burning things up at a small club. If we end up beating off the competition for Dibling or Delap, then I'd say they qualify as very highly rated PL proven stars because then it proves we can outmuscle the other top six from time to time.

Yeah but it's far more likely he just picked Juve. We've got decent info to say we offered to pay his wages. All you've got is the suggestion that Juve promised him something post PSG. Well why would they knacker their own negotiation position? Just doesn't check out
