From the position we were in very disappointing. It's one of my biggest things that annoys me when the ball goes out wide and the player that is supposed to be stopping the wide player just jogs out and doesn't get tight to the opposing player he thinks if I'm five yards off him then I've done my job. It's simple stop the cross you stop the goal simple it's just lazy defending plain and simple. I know we've got injuries but the default setting cannot be just put Partey at right back I'd rather see a youth player given a chance there who can actually play the position.

Arguably 3 first choice defenders out, plus a couple of direct back ups - solutions have to be found. Unfortunately it was really a choice of Partey at RB or Kiwior at CB - both options would have caused unhappiness.

Kiwior as a right CB would have been a worse option. Watkins would have had a field day with the pole.

In some ways Zagreb at home would be the right time to try something out (ie Tierney/Zinchenko/MLS at right back) if no-one is back from injury. However, we simply cannot afford to risk top 8 and extra 2 games, so I don't see Arteta experimenting much.
Would also like to see MLS at #8 and either NBO or Kabia given minutes but doubt we will see that either.

Don't think they looked that bad we pushed them all the way to end. It was just a case of players switching off maybe mentally tired.

Don't think they looked that bad we pushed them all the way to end. It was just a case of players switching off maybe mentally tired.

The exhaustion I alluded to is more on the mental side.
We really need to get in at least one body next week.
