Even I thought he may not survive, but if he was going to get sacked, it would have probably been last night, or early this morning. Levy knows the problems Ange is facing with the horrendous injury list, so I think he is giving him time. Besides there is no manager that stands out that is going to come in, and suddenly magic up win after win, until the injuries subside. If anything the injuries are getting worse. Since the Tamworth game, Spurs have lose Solanke, Johnson, Werner, Bissouma. Draguson injured yesterday. OK some of the players may not be all that, but they are bodies, and with all the cup games on the horizon, that`s exactly what Spurs need right now.
Haven`t got a clue what team Spurs will put out in Hoffenheim. Spence and Regulion are not available, so if Draguson is injured, who partners Gray? Porro will have to continue, and sadly Davies as well. What a mess at the back. Midfield are Bentancur and Bissouma available? Up front surely Richarlison and Micky Moore have to start. Will either Romero or MIcky be back for Leicester?
It is what it is. Not ideal, but the team have to keep battling on, and hopefully come out the other side with good experiences for all the youngsters, and a wake up call for the senior pros to actually start to earn their money.

I think Ange is safe, Levy has seen sense

yet you back the chairman and dont wanna sign players?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course I back the Chairman. He runs the club, and he isn`t selling I don`t think, so silly not to back him. Pointless saying Levy out, when there are no current buyers. I also always want the club to sign new players, if the right ones are available. But I don`t just want panic buys.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
thats the problem we are 20 days in so will probably still bring in a panic buy. no noise of even trying to get a player in early doors we so needed.
Ange has been calling for the players to get help for a while. He isnt going to say anything but everyone is working their best behind the scenes as he knows that is when he will get fired
i understand it isnt easy to get deals done in january either but we clearly left ourselves short in the summer and also were quick to get in a keeper. so i find it hard to believe we cant strengthen this month. if we dont, i dont see much improving

I think this is about optics. Levy won't be happy with what's happening at the moment but if he pulls the trigger when we're 8-11th, the blame will be firmly at his door for not showing patience but if he waits until we're truly dire - 15th-18th, Levy is labelled the hero for rescuing us from this abject manager.
I think Strike is right. Forgot any soundbites from Ali Gold. The money spent in January (or lack of) is the truest measure of the faith the board have in Ange. I'm pretty convinced they've already made their minds up but they don't want to do it until they've got the majority of fans supporting the decision to axe. It's all PR.

indeed, if Levy and the board are intending to keep Ange why are they not helping him by getting players in through door from the 1st of Jan.
We don't need permanent signings either 2-3 experienced loanees will do (whatever the rules allow).
But no they will just sit on their hands until deadline day no doubt.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah because its that easy. Look at all the countless deals that have been done by 2nd January
We are talking about securing quality players that clubs will not want to lose mid season. Identifying a player that may be available is tough enough. But few clubs will entertain discussions about a player before the window and especially if it is a player they want to keep. Kinsky is the sort of player from the sort of club where £12.5m is too good to pass up and that deal was done quickly. To get a loan in, we are basically targeting a player the club do not mind losing, without a transfer fee, for the rest of the season. Most players in that bracket will either be too young too old or in shiiiit form. Im sure Utd would gladly offer us Antony but probably not Amad.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh give over Dev. City have managed to get several deals over the line. We knew we were screwed in early December. Negotiations don't start on the 1st January. They could have been in discussion long before this point. The only reason deals are drawn out for us is because we're always looking to squeeze as much from the deal as possible. If you offer over the odds, you'll get your man and then the selling club can then use those funds to look elsewhere. They don't always need to find a replacement before selling. It's a question of money.
I've got absolutely no doubt that the reason for the delay is that we have two centre halves scheduled to come back at the end of the month and Levy doesn't want to pay out for someone that will ultimately be on the bench, even though we know Romero or VDV will have another spell on the sidelines after they come back. It's inevitable.
We have a thin squad wand an owner with deep pockets and short feckin arms. Stop defending the indefensible. Every journo out there recognises the problem. Even the Spurs mouthpiece Ali Gold is now throwing shade Levy's way. At this point i think you're just digging your heels in. With each passing day without a signing, you're becoming more and more wrong.

Man City have 1 confirmed deal - Claudio Echeverri, a 19 year old from River Plate.
The sort of "cheapo, not for the first XI" sort of player that Levy would be slated for if we bought in a kid like this to cover our CB position.
Go on then mate.....lets see this long list of deals that get done in say the first week of January. I can recall VVD coming early as he basically went on strike in the summer Saints held on to him and then got shot for a record fee. Other than that, lets see it.
FYI,
Torres
Suarez
Carroll
Gordon
Guimaraes
Diaz
Aubameyang
Laporte
Bruno fernandez
Mudryk (15th)
Enzo Fernandez
Kulusevski
Bentancur
Porro
These are some of the biggest deals done in teh last few days of the Jan window.
Early deals done off the top of my head - Liverpool VVD, Gakpo, Chelsea Pulisic.
So yes, deals can be done early but it is a exception, not the norm because if for example we want Eze, do you think CP will entertain discussions on Eze in December Of course not UNLESS they actually want to sell him. And that's the key. In January you are far more at the mercy of the club and players are far less likely to demand to leave.
This is just realism, not me defending anyone or digging my heels in...its feckin obvious to anyone who knows football. "January is a difficult month to get deals done" is a phrase repeated everywhere by experts. If Utd need a RWB and thought Porro might be their target, and they picked up the phone in December to Levy what do you think our response would be.
We also have a home grown quota to consider in who we target.
Some of you think buying a player is as easy said as done. It's laughable.

Would you regard our injury crisis as the exception, not the norm? I would, therefore we need to move far quicker to get deals done. I doubt any of the clubs buying that list of players above had any urgent requirement to get them in the door as we currently do so your example is moot.
The point is that other PL clubs not as desperate as us have made more moves than we have. I'm sorry but you'll never convince me. Generally speaking, in life as in football, if the whole world is saying one thing and you're saying another, you're probably wrong. I'll just let the majority speak for me I guess. I don't need to push this agenda because the army of people spitting the same facts as me tells you who's right and who's wrong. This is a criticism of ENIC that goes back a hell of a long way so this isn't something new.
"The players are always the same, the club changes the coaches, the players are the same, but the result doesn't change."
Horrible coach but Conte was absolutely bang on.

Honestly think Levy is the kind of twаt that would make a decision based on whether he thought winning the league cup was better for Ange than himself.
