Eurosport’s UK exit is bad news for Sky and Virgin Media TV users.
Bad news for Snooker fans as from next month, Eurosport will no longer exist in the UK.
The sports channels and streaming services will merge with TNT Sports, which launched in 2023 to replace BT Sport.
Right now, Eurosport is home to Cycling, Tennis, Snooker and the Olympic Games (and Winter Games). All these sporting events will join the portfolio seen on TNT, which includes the Premier League, UEFA European Club Football, Premiership Rugby, MotoGP, UFC and Boxing.
How this affects you will depend on your TV package. In short, you’ll lose out if you’re a premium TV customer. However, if you’re with Freesat or Freeview, there’s another change that will work in your favour.
At the time of writing, many Sky and Virgin Media basic packages offer Eurosport channels, Eurosport 1 and Eurosport 2, at no extra cost. That’s all about to change.
These channels will disappear from 28 February 2025. Content that previously aired on these platforms will instead move to four TNT Sports channels which, unfortunately, cost extra.
That includes the Tour de France, the Australian Open, the Roland-Garros, Snooker and full unfiltered access to the Olympic Games. The Tour de France will air on ITV for free in 2025, but from 2026 Warner Bros. Discovery has exclusive rights, so you’ll have to pay for TNT Sports.
TNT Sports costs around £25 per month on Sky if you opt for BT Broadband. If not, it typically costs around £30 per month, though this can vary depending on the type of contract you choose and if any promotions are going on.
Virgin Media offers TNT sports as an add-on for £18 per month or included with some TV bundles. EE TV is around a similar price.
I am a SKY subscriber (18 months left on my contract and then I will be cancelling), I have Skysports but don`t have TNT sports, there is no way I am paying extra to see the snooker. Time for a dodgy stick me thinks.

I have Sky sports but don't have TNT Sports and I'm not winning to pay £30 a month for it. There's still BBC and ITV4 so there are still 8 tournaments to watch next season. But will be missing out on China events, Saudi events and the few European events. Some of the Home nation events may be on QUEST but that's generally from the Quarter finals which onwards.

The only hope the UK viewers of football is if UEFA and the PL offer their own streaming services for their content. I get sky go free from a friend but I'll never pay for sky sports and TNT sports, the cost is farcical.
Spending over a 100 a month to watch football in the UK is not even a 'joke' anymore, it's a disgrace.
