Pep's style

It's quite obvious defending is not Pep's priority. Players are so attack minded they can't defend. No wonder hell breaks loose anytime City loses the ball. Pep's football involves his players spreading out and keeping away to create space which they do outstandingly. Defending is the opposite, his players can adapt fast enough. Long distance shooting is also an aberration with Pep, but the opposition seems to enjoy that against City.

For a time there was a shift from PL managers to play more like Pep's teams do which suited him to a tee as he does it better than anyone else so it's win win for him.

Now there's a very obvious shift towards pace, power and direct play in the PL and this unfortunately for Pep isn't good news. Teams like Arsenal, Newcastle, Villa, Bournemouth, Fulham, Forest and Palace etc are now capable of running right through his team.

I was actually surprised how badly Forest did at the Etihad recently too. I expected them to win that game with the form City were in. Chris Wood missed a few guilt edge chances though I seem to recall.

Hi Tika taka football needs to die now. It's as dull as dishwater.

Doku and Savinho have ferocious pace, that’s why Jake isn’t getting a look in

It’s funny how this shift happened as soon as Rodri got injured.

This wasn’t happening to City for the last four years with Rodri in the team. This ‘shift’ is fictional, City just have personnel problems that have been exploited this season.
