Not even going to bother dissecting last nights absolute pathetic display because it's really not worthy of any of our long suffering supporters time. If they can't be bothered to even muster 1 single shot on target, then why should we bother wasting time analysing the basket case football club we support. Utter sh** from ever single one of them bar Spence, Gray and Danso looked pretty decent despite the goals conceded ( not his fault)
My article is solely on the players we have had previously, certainly in my era supporting this club and just how the quality we currently possess throughout this team has dramatically fallen.
Jurgen Klinsman, David Ginola, VDV, Luka Modric, Gareth Bale, Berbatov, Harry Kane. All elite footballers that have played for this club in various different eras in all different Spurs teams. Even during the 90s when we were rubbish, we still had quality like Klinsman/Ginola etc that got the crowd off their feet.
Can you honestly say we have an elite player of this ilk in this current Spurs side? Not a chance. Wouldn't even class VDV in the same breath as Vertonghen or Alderweireld purely because he's never fit. Not 1 elite footballer and not 1 world class player bought by this club since Harry Kane landed onto their laps.
This my friends is why this club go nowhere because when we do have that elite footballer like Harry kane for arguments sake, we never build a team around them. We never push on with the required quality to help deliver true success at this football club. It's why eventually they all move on because why stay at a club that offer nothing in terms of trophies.
I will get the usual replies from certain people saying "Harry Kane was part of the failure " and i get that. but he is now at Bayern Munich where no doubt he will win the league this season and that myth can be put to bed,
We don't have elite players anymore and the main denominator on how the club have completely regressed has always been down to the chairman and ownership. Simply bored of it repeating the same old s** over and over.

Agree with Diamond about Mousa Dembele and CMs in general who don't get all the glory but mean the difference between a great team and an average one. Modders was the same for us (better than Dembele actually).
We don't have that with our squad now, but equally these players have the opportunity to make themselves get classed as elite players in the future, like Bale and Kane did with us.
Also great post by TheFoxOutsideTheBox, the human side with confidence and momentum etc... is critical. I think that's why 'Arry was so good with us. The players aren't robots.
