Time to fight back...

Listening to Ange defending the club today,it feels as though he is defending the club's honour from what has been 30/40 years of hurt. I think the 'its easy to stick the boot in on spurs' is actually quite resounding in many ways. I like carragher, he's a good pundit but he almost seemed to take pleasure in slaughtering us and the manager last night. We seem to be a prime target when many other clubs around us seemingly win nothing nothing for years in end and completely escape criticisim.

Are we being punished for trying to show some sort of ambition to be better than just 6th place every year !?

Are we being unfairly scrutinised for trying to do things the right way, by building a sustainable club, buying and developing young players and playing in the game in a positive manner.

I've felt quite down trodden as a spurs fan almost accepting the criticism that comes our way but it's about time we changed.

I remember in the hoddle days being behind in games but the crowd sang 'Glen Hoddle blue and white aren't relentlessley to stir up the team, where are these fans now, the slightest setback and it all goes quiet.

We need to stay behind the team as soon as we kick off and putting the history and bad feelings away and support whoever is on the pitch for the 90+ mins.

We still have a history better than most clubs and have been a premier league staple for a very long time. This can be skewed when you have serial winners in the TV studio, such as Keane, Carra, Neville etc who have won it all. It's easy for them to sit and cast judgement when they haven't been in the situation that 95% of clubs have been in... And that it's the norm for most clubs not to win things season after season.

So fair play Ange for sticking up for the club. Pundits and press get it wrong so often and yet are rarely called out for thre ill-informed comments or judgements.... But he's their facing the music and standing by us and we need to do the same.

COYS!

I am not convinced we are showing any ambition anymore. Top ticket prices in the league, with a wage bill that does not match. Let alone in the summer when our two of three top earners leave in Romero and Werner.

We are wrongly and quite rudely treated as are Arsenal.

Villa, Newcastle and Everton get zero criticism and Chelsea for some reason are rarely lambasted. Of all clubs Chelsea are a team you could blast, no history 2004, held the lowest attendance in the league for years, spent tons, a vastly overrated yet very average manager (like ours)

Anyone with half a brain would know that having up to a dozen injuries for months on end, especially if half of them are nailed on starters, is going to affect results and performances.

I personally take zero notice of the planks that think they could pick a team as it stands, that is going to be consistently good. It is obvious nothing much changes until all the main players return in a week or so. Then and only then will fortunes change.

No manager should have to put up with the nonsense Ange has had to endure from the media, and sad to say from some of his own fans. It needs to stop. Judge him with a full squad for a period of time.

He 100 per cent still gets my backing.

Wow, what a blinkered, awful take this is. What exactly did Carragher say that you could describe as inaccurate? People like yourself just don’t like what he has to say because ultimately it’s not what you want to hear. It doesn’t make it any less valid. He’s been banging on about Ange tactically for a while now. I remember him warning that his style of play is what breeds the kind of inconsistent results he’s been getting and since then that’s exactly how it’s played out. We should be thanking Carra for being honest.

Fight back? Do me a favour. Fight back against honesty? The fact that you felt compelled to write an article on this is just bizarre. Swallow the pill. We’re shiiiit and Carragher is just telling the truth.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Carragher talks nonsense 24/7. Not his job to put the knife into Spurs. As Devonshire said he wouldn't mock Newcastle. Yes he is entitled to his view. But he has to balance it up with the mitigating circumstances for Spurs current form. Even a village idiot would know what those were.

Just to say Spurs were dreadful, without saying a dozen players were missing is schoolboy journalism.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So just so I’m hearing this right, do you think, even on this spurs subject alone, that you know more about football than Carragher does?

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeh Fridges new idol is Carragher who predicted just seven days ago that Spurs would be conceeding a minimum three goals. Very knowledgeable.

Fellas a total plank.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He also said Ten Hag would be gone by Christmas and he was absolutely bang on, despite him being given a new contract and a shiiitload of new players.

Brentford was an anomaly. Based on form he was absolutely right. We always need at least 3 goals to win a game these days.

The point is, he’s an ex pro. He knows way more than you’ll ever know about football. There’s a reason why he sits next to Neville on Stick To Football. Should we replace him with you? Is that where this should go? Maybe you can do the forensic analysis on MNF too. It would be a feckin car crash but I would feckin love to see it. 😂
----------------------------------------------------------------------

it would be great to watch, with Sandy harking back to the 1901 cup winning side, talking about push and run and calling Neville “Fella”

😂

This exchange is hilarious .
I’m not a huge fan of Carragher as a person, I think he a bell, but I do respect his opinion and analysis on football. I repeat, he knows a dud when he sees one. I’m now visualising Sandy up there at the big screen, analysing our games and having nothing else to say apart from “injuries, injuries, injuries Dave”. “I know I’ve been criticising Romero for two years, but if he doesn’t play we can except to lose”.

So you are saying every Pro footballers is more knowledgeable about the game than fellas that have been watching the game for years? We even had a player who played for us, that said he wasn`t the least bit interested in football out of earning a living out of it.

Footballers may have played, yes, but that doesn`t make them experts on the way the game is played. Supporters in general are far more clued up on the game, than they will ever be.

You only have to look at the many ex footballers that try their hand at management, and they are seriously bad at it.

That’s EXACTLY what I’m saying Sandy, yes.

To even believe it’s a debate is funny 😂😂😂😂

Sure some players are indifferent about the game (White, Assou-Ekotto, Batty etc) but they still know more than you do. Way more. Also, it’s worth pointing out that Carra is a football obsessive. Part of the reason he never went into management is because he didn’t want to fall out of love with the game. He’s massively clued up. He’s played at the very highest level, watches far more football than you’ll ever do, and, as an ex pro, forensically analyses games and styles in a way that is mere mortals can’t. That’s fine isn’t it? You don’t have to be the all seeing eye of football. You can still enjoy the game knowing there are people smarter than you about how it’s played.

I’m honestly flabbergasted you’re questioning it. My guess is that you don’t even watch it. You’re not interested in punditry and their breakdown of tactics. I, on the other hand, do watch all that stuff. Particularly MNF because you get a real tactical insight. In many respects, I’d say the fact that I do watch stuff like that means it’s not only Carra that knows the deeper tactical understanding of the game more than you. I do too. 😂😂😂😂😂 how does that make you feel?

Listening to Spurs fans lapping up what rubbish Carragher spouts is hilarious. Fecking embarrassing. The guy is a grade A gobsheite, so I can see while he appeals to a few on here.

He's not saying much wrong, nor is it nothing we haven't heard before from many of our own fans. You don't even have to like the guy to agree with him on this issue.

Let me ask you this then - when you’re watching matches and they occasionally do vox pops outside the ground, do you put stock in what those fans say? It seems to me that you think you know better than Carragher does therefore you must think all fans have more tactical insight too? Why would you be so dismissive of a seasoned pro like that? What part of what he has to say do you take issue with?

Experts are there for a reason. To ignore it is just bonkers, even if they’re not saying what you want to hear.

Got to be honest I think carra was telling it like it is, it's just you don't seem him to in like that on other teams really and the worst part was he seemed to enjoy it.

I rate him as a pundit but I felt it was too much.
