The hate directed at MLS is out of control with ex pros saying he should be taken out on the pitch for his celebration. The pundits in the media and now representatives from the PL now steaming in two footed on this young man trying to carve out a career in top level football.
The whole “stay in your box" narrative comes from a place we are all familiar with, however you’d have thought it was from the bad old days……looks like it never went away!!
Allied to the fact that no one in the media has had anything positive to say about a potential England international is conspicuous by its absence.
As Arsenal fans we are well aware of the blatant biases against some of our players. We need to be calling this out on and off the pitch and make our voices heard and call these pundits out.

This whole thing seems to be a manufactured problem, I don’t see him getting much “hate” - he did something provocative & got a bit of a reaction, whoopee-do…
So what ? Ultimately no one cares. 🙄
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It isn't just one thing though.
He got booked before even making his debut for asking Raya if he was okay and if not go down. If you have ever been to a game and sat along where the subs warm up you would have heard this sort of comment a lot. Yet MLS is booked.
Then he is booked for following the refs instructions to stop going to the halfway line and go behind the goal when subbed.
Then there is the scandalous red that even some of the biggest Arsenal haters couldn't believe.
Now they are changing the laws of the game because of a harmless celebration??
All this a couple of months into his senior career 😂😂😂
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Booked for telling Raya to time wasters in a game they were timewasting like crazy. This is a yellow card offence for gamesmanship. Potentially this was planned from the bench as Arteta used this timewasting period to give a teamtalk to his players.
Booked for wasting time himself as he started walking towards the bench from the goal line to waste time, instead of leaving at the goal line as all clubs and players have been made aware of.
Borderline red but a yellow for me but can see why the ref gave it. Rightfully rescinded in my opinion and luckily it didn't cost Arsenal the game.
Think you've created an agenda here when there isn't one. Committed three yellow card offences, got two yellows and one was harshly given as a red.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No, booked for asking Raya if he was okay and if not go down for treatment. Happens a lot in games involving all teams, yet a yellow is never ever given. Show me in the IFAB laws where it says a player cannot ask if a teammate is okay??? Ridiculous yellow and ridiculous of any football supporter to back it.
Not sure how he was timewasting, the yellow was given 5 seconds after his number went up and there was another sub to make.
Borderline red??? It was a basic yellow, seen about 6 or 7 since that were worse and the question wasn't even raised about a red - such as Bernardo the next day and the Leyton Orient player on Saturday. It is such a simple and basic yellow, to give a red is extremely awful officiating and should have seen Oliver and England punished.

Then you compare to the young, blond, white kid with the cockerel on his shirt - gets away with absolute murder. Should have been sent off twice already in his short Spurs career, yesterday committed so many fouls that an Arsenal player would get booked for - and a black Arsenal player would have been sent off going by the standards set.

Haaland gave it out, so should be big enough to expect some back which he got and seems to be big enough to accept it. I mean it's a celebration, it's light hearted. It's not like Gabriel screaming in his face.
I found it funny and adds some spice to future games, surely that's a good thing for spectators.

..is the correct answer.
Honestly, all these football supporters and pundits constantly harking back to how football was better in 'the good old days' then getting wound up by something as trivial as this?
It's crazy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah I can't believe it even became a conversation tbh. People moan about Pep making modern players robotic and the game being gone, then when there's finally a bit of needle between teams people are all up in arms.
It's a kid having a bit of fun, everyone needs to chill out.

The fans I've spoken to have either not mentioned it or just thought he was a nob .The media are just trying to build something up that just isn't there.
Even Haaland's comment to Arteta has been blown out of all proportion - I was metres away when Arteta was basically shouting at anyone who even looked like an official as the players were leaving the pitch.

Yeah it's just a bit of banter. Personally I found Haaland throwing the ball at Gabriel's head funny, same as Gabi celebrating in Haalands face.
I guess the media have to be seen to not encourage it but personally I find so long as it doesn't descend into genuinely trying to hurt anyone else, it's just good fun to watch.

T-Bad well they said nothing about what Haaland did, they found it funny, they have said nothing about what he said to MLS either.
Personally I love it and Haaland is a good sport, he took the banter as he knows he will have a chance to get his revenge.

Yeah I do agree that I think there was a double standard in the reaction but if people wanna tie themselves up in knots about inconsequential stuff like that, then let them waste their energy.
