Our injury situation....
Fantastic analysis here which suggests a very strong correlation between, the distance covered, number of sprints made, attempted ball recovers etc and the number of muscle injuries picked up.

I'll let you read it for yourself but there are some key conclusions to draw from this.
1. The number of sprints, distance covered is insane, far greater than any other team.
2. A far greater number of muscle injuries than any other team. Especially hamstrings. These are often linked to tiredness/being overworked
3. The past four games our running stats are well down on usual, no muscle injuries occured. The first real major adaption we have seen.
4. The second team on the list for running stats is Bournemouth! They also have 10 players missing
My own conclusion to draw here is that Ariola with inferior players and a also (not quite as many) injuries has his team pushing for Europe whilst we are hovering above relegation.
So not only is Ange to blame for our injury crisis, he has also managed it very poorly and barely managed any decent results as a consequence.
As others have said including fans of previous clubs the standard in his previous leagues has been far inferior. With every club providing a different type of challenge, and a higher standard of tactical ability this one style fits all situations approach has been massively exposed.
No wonder he looks so dejected, his methods are being systematically torn apart in front of his eyes and he probably knows it.
Expanding the medical department, hiring a new medical team is incredibly short sited considering the evidence here. How on earth are the sports scientists not advising the club!

Have they played the same amount of matches as we have ? Nope…..this comparison to Bournemouth I’ve seen countless times now and it’s ridiculous
I like Iraola and think he would be a great appointment but the fact they have had as many injuries, less games with similar running stats is alarming
It reads like we would have the same amount of injuries still ….yeah okay he is dealing with them better than Ange but with one game a week
Would Bournemouth be doing so well if they had Europe too? I’d say no

Yeah I agree... I didn't say we should be appoint Ariola but seemly saying Ange has kinda failed on both counts in many ways.
He has rarely adapted but when he has attempted something that has also ended in massive failure. The 3 nil down to half time to Everton who hadnt scored a goal til that point was a key example.
I look at Son as a bit of a reflection of how things are going, he was a guy always smiling, bright happy full of running. He looks a beaten man. Totally dejected.

Seeing as we won't have any Europe next season, he'd be a great appointment then.
Another thing is Iraola doesn't strike me as being as stubborn as Ange, so might be more willing to be flexible if things don't start going his way.

I think nutrition is the real issue here. Ange has them eating barbie food and tinnies all the time. It's a high protein diet but not what elite athletes should be eating.
