No different to if you finished top of the old group format winning 6 from 6 and then drawing PSG who finished 2nd in their group.

Yeah people tend to look at it from their clubs angle. PSG’s reward for coming through the playoffs and not doing as well as they should have is playing Liverpool.

Agreed. Its been the 1st year of this format and I think some teams have taken it easier in some of the early games not really knowing what would be needed for the top 8.

I reckon next season youll see the big players taking up the majority of the top 8 spots.

Yeah this is exactly what I’ve been saying for a while now. People were thinking just take it easy and get through, don’t worry about where you finish which has seen a bit of a mish mash in the draw but many of them will now understand the implications and do it differently next season.

With the new system there is always going to be a bit of jeopardy for the fancied clubs.
I think maybe the only surprises in the top eight are Lille and Villa, I don't think anyone could argue about the other six teams.
Meanwhile you have City, Bayern, Dortmund , PSG, Real in the play offs. I think in the old system these four would have progressed easily and had a favourable draw.

I'm just surprised you didn't get Porto.

Thought they'd have got Monchengbach and Kilmarnock with the home legs second in both.

Celebrate what? Just need to finish top 8 to avoid playoff and then it's luck of the draw again.
Finishing top not the advantage it should be.
