On Jan 19th made this article expressing my fears about not catching Liverpool who were 6pts ahead and concerned that Man City would overtake us.

Had a few who pooh pooped the thought which I found slightly amusing because if you have been a fan for a decent time (became a fan in 2001), you will have seen this story before. Penny pinching leading to stagnation leading to toxicity and hounding out of managers before board panics, does the bare minimum, gets some optimism going before we rinse and repeat.
Liverpool are now 13pts clear (of they hold onto their lead vs Newcastle) and even though Man City are now 7pts behind, based on our last 3 games, i'd still put 100 on them overtaking us because at very best, I see us drawing a lot of games between now and April (if Saka comes back then).
Speaking of Saka, I dont want to see him play for the rest of the season. Give the boys time to fully recover, time off in the summer and ready to go come preseason!
I am writing off this season...lets see if Arteta and the board actually bring in the players we need i steady of the players Arteta obsesses about.

Defo had a feeling of it being Liverpools year quite early on the way things were falling for both team and we didn't do anything to really change our fortunes.
The last two years obviously tired us out a lot and we don't have enough bodies in the attacking third to make meaningful contributions.
I'd probably put the blame more on the board than Arteta. Certainly more wary of Arteta being unable to take us over that last step than I ever have been, but I think he's earned the right to get backed in the summer and have another go at it.
