Over the decades , some of the best and most exciting attacking footballers in the world have come from Africa.
Allow me to honour these legends in my own special way please.
So in no particular order , here are some of football's greatest talents ...
- George Weah ( Liberia)
- Samuel Eto'o ( Cameroon)
- Didier Drogba ( Cote d'Ivoir )
- Mo Salah ( Egypt )
- Jay Jay Okocha ( Nigeria )
- Abedi Pele ( Ghana )
- Roger Milla ( Cameroon )
- Riyad Mahrez ( Algeria )
- Kalusha Bwalia ( Zambia )
- Rachidi Yekini , RIP ( Nigeria )
- Tony Yeboah ( Ghana )
- Hossam Hassan ( Egypt )
- John "Shoes" Moshoeu , RIP ( South Africa )
- Yaya Toure ( Cote d'Ivoir )
- Sadio Mané ( Senegal )
- Daniel Amokachi ( Nigeria )
- Rabah Madjer ( Algeria )
- Benny McCarthy ( South Africa )
* Special mention to Congolese legend Ndaye Mulamba , RIP , who still holds the record for the most goals ever scored in an AFCON tournament with 9 goals which he set in 1974 as he led his country to winning the trophy.
I never got to watch him play but my dad swears that Mulamba was at the time the most lethal striker in the world.
I know I'm missing one or two obvious names so help me out then ...
Straight outta Africa

How about African players who chose/were chosen to play for a European national team?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They wouldn't be African legends then would they?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Legends from Africa
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Lol ok fair enough ... But they made their choice so I wouldn't think they're necessarily looked at as legends by fans in Africa. At least not to the level of the players me mentioned in the op

"some of the best and most exciting attacking footballers in the world have come from Africa"
They still come from Africa. If we are to get more exciting players coming from Africa in the future, that would be great. Regardless of what national team they choose to/forced to play for.
They are coming from Africa.

Every human is "... outta Africa".
As indeed every 'cat' is "outta" Asia.
