Its often their first anger aggression reaction because they are a bit thick. Like Jamie Carragher did. Is he a football hooligan?
------------------
I get that mate and good point, but pretty sure a gang of fans spitting in the direction of an opposing fan, at a football match with 'anger', and no provocation is football hooliganism, yes
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not at all, spitting is foul inhumam behaviour.
Kicking living chite out of somebody at or around a football ground at match day cos they support the other team, is.
---------------------------
do me favour - any inhuman act like spitting, violence, directed at an opposing fan whilst at the football comes under the same bracket surely?
you can't put levels on it mate... attacking a team bus, throwing chairs about, physical violence, spitting and cheering when landing, all hooliganism - all of it

Let’s hope they understand the need for segregation.
Wasn’t pretty in Australia in the concourse and despite buying tickets in the Leeds end it was full of plastic Aussies skum fans. Result didn’t make things easy
------------------------------
Agree, whilst I find it madness we have to go to lengths to separate the fans at friendly football matches, its probably wise to do so to make sure things don't boil over. Crazy tho, because I've been to many a rugby league match and sat next to, and had top banter with an opposing fan.
Once went to Rhinos vs Cas at Elland a few years ago, was leaving the ground, my then 10 year old son wearing his rhinos shirt, literally in the middle of a herd of Cas fans... we chatting away with them about the game as we walked back to the car - not for one second did I fear for my son, or my own safety, not once - bearing in mind we'd just seen 80 minutes of our team knocking lumps out of each other on the pitch!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Worst Violence ive seen was actually at a wakey vs Cas.
Very naughty that day

Im not anti Leeds, but I did have my worst match experience. I'd gone with my girlfriend,, in the 60s, we were seated in a great place near the halfway line, with directors box a few rows behind us and to the left.
After ko three blokes behind us started giving us a hard time and then thought spitting at us, cheering if they
stuck it in her hair. Nobody said a word to them as far as I know we left and vowed never to go again.
I've had plenty of verbals at other grounds but normally banter that a beef drink at half time made us, if not mates, not enemies.
I recognise there's probably only a very few Leeds fans attended the game, it was around 60years ago, eek so it would be daft to say they are the same now.
But it did leave a bad impression.
---------------
truly awful that.
some dark days in a lot clubs history's.. so glad we've on from those days.
Crown chants and banter is one thing, but who in their right mind would want to be violent at a football match?.. absolute crazy
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The days of football aggro happened. But the football day out experience was still great. Before your time I guess. In the days before TV games and worldwide internet fans. Things were different then. If you were a football supporter you probably went with your mates to watch your local team and probably have a few beers.Especially in the big Cities (not so much in posh rural areas where they play Rugby U)
Now it doesnt happen as much now. But the threat of it is always still there just bubbling under the surface if it wasnt checked and policed carefully, all around the World. And we still occasionally see it happen, in countries more often where they are not so much on top of it. (eg South/Central America and old E European countries, especially.
However people still gob at each other, at football matches or elsewhere. Its not because of football they do it its because they are chav(e)s. Its often their first anger aggression reaction because they are a bit thick. Like Jamie Carragher did. Is he a football hooligan?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You obviously dont got to games 🤷🏻♂️
The amount of young lads out on the lash, all day, watching Football, is huge at the minute, all the small clubs have developed big Saturday away followings.

Friendly ! I don't know about the team, but the fans I doubt it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe a friendly little charity bet like the good old days 52. 😄
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm listening
----------------------------------------------------------------------
10 pounds charity of your choice.
I should get the draw if it happens.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Okay,I'm game. If I lose I want to give mine to local charities.
One is called Revivre, giving people a new start in life.
I'll give them six euros, I would imagine I could get a receipt there.
The other is on the market every Sunday, gives clothing where needed. Six euros there, but no receipt.
If I win you can tell me who you will give it too, but I don't need a receipt, I know you will do it.

a lot to do with alcohol... I'm not really into darts so couldn't comment really, but how long before we have a dust up in the crowd at a darts match?.. the bits I've seen the crowd are all smashed? - could it happen or isn;t it that sort of atmosphere?, nobody really 'supporting?'

Sounds good 52, If I lose i've picked a charity in Leeds called St. George's crypt. They provide assistance to homeless and those with dependencies.
A small way for me to give to the Leeds community other than shirts and mugs.
Looking forward to the game now and the season isn't even over.

I just can't wrap my head around fan violence. doesn't happen in Canadian sport but that's undoubtable the fact we just don't get the away fans in such numbers.
We had our gang wars with neighboring towns in my youth but that was mostly french vrs english. We were heavily out numbered.

We're on. I'll see if I can get a photo. It's not guaranteed to be in the same place, because it's a charity they don't pay, but they have to accept the place given.
I gave it to victims of Hillsborough, but I want something local.
Caen is a lovely prosperous town, but some can't make it and end up on the streets or hostel. I give a little each week, but not much, I'll add to it each week, a small amount but I will increase it by 10€ if I lose and 6 euros to revivre which I don't know but it's a promise.
