My friend is in Thailand (thankfully not in Bangkok) and messaged me saying there had been a 4.8 on the Richter scale earthquake and we joked that it wasn’t major so why even worry but she messaged me back 5 minutes later and said it had been upgraded to a 7.7 and now videos are coming out showing just how destructive it was, particularly in Myanmar.
There could be as many as 10,000 dead. Absolutely shocking for both countries, especially Myanmar with what they’re already going through.
Fingers crossed it isn’t anywhere near as bad as the projections fear.

Tall buildings in Bangkok are built to pretty high standards, that's probably why there isn't more damage.
