Morning all🌞.
So, in a world where we’re all being told to accept ‘the new reality’, we start this 7 game run-in from where we are, not where we’d like to be.
State of play after 39 games (unless indicated):
Season 2023/24*
1. Ipswich Town 84 pts
2. Leeds United 83 pts
3. Leicester City 82 pts 🟣
4. Southampton 74 pts 🟢
(7 pt gap to 5th place).
Season 2024/25
1. Sheffield U 83 pts
2. Leeds Utd. 81 pts (GD51**)
3. Burnley FC 81 pts (GD42 **)
4. Sunderland 72 pts
(we’re now guaranteed a top 4 place).
(* 2023/24 table on 29 March 2024).
(🟣 = 38 games played).
(🟢 = 37 games played).
(** only Burnley are anywhere near us in terms of GD).
Moral of this tale? We need to show our bouncebackability. Right now would be a good time please😁.

Yep. Hate to say it but we need to be like the old ‘boring Arsenal 1-0’ from yesteryear👍

A couple of factors keep me still believing just despite my various concerns about DF is the fact whenever we have got promoted into the top league and gone up as Champions since our promotion under Don in 1964 is that Liverpool have won the top tier title which okay some may say is a coincidence but 3 times previous to this is some coincidence and patterns like that I don't think should be dismissed or ignored but of course I wouldn't bet my house on it.
Secondly we've scored 79 goals and with 7 games to go no 2nd tier side has not got promoted scoring 80 goals or above so unless we don't score another goal that seems likely to be another box ticked in our favour but of course yet again Leeds could be the exception like they were under Bielsa being top at Christmas in 2018 and the first side not to get promoted.
So not an exact science but I just can't let go all hope yet we will still find a way to stagger over the promotion finishing line but should we lose to Luton then unfortunately that probably will be what convinces me that we will inexplicably fall short for a 2nd season running as we all accept the play offs are not our friend
and to get promoted in a blaze of glory at Wembley is something none of us will ever experience.... isn't it???

It’s amazing how 2 minutes can change a mindset - and I’m not referring to interactions with Mrs V & me, but Saturday when I thought we’d dodged a bullet & got 3 previous points despite not being at our best. But then Ilian stepped up, or actually didn’t. For periods man of the match, which says how the match was going, but his mishaps kicked in. Desperately don’t want to turn on him, or any player, but jeez!!!
I watched Darlow playing for Wales last week & thought he looked assured. Maybe his time - my guess Rodon would want it.
Still think we’re ok, still think we’ll be top 2. We’re just doing the usual Leeds stuff.

Macca, VOF, great points made👍👏.
Yep, as someone once said:
“The despair, I can deal with. It’s the hope that destroys you.”
😁💛🤍💙
