He’s such a strange player. Almost useless in the league but very good in Europe. I guess the criticisms from people in the game are true - he’s too slow for the PL so perhaps non PL football suits him better.
Is he worth keeping solely for Europe (if we even make it) and in hope he finds a way to magically become faster? Or just hope his European form makes his price tag higher?

Do you actually watch football???
To call him almost useless in the league is ridiculous. He has been much better than rasmus. We play better with him in the team. He ain’t going to get you 20 goals but you won’t see him kicking the ball out of play with no pressure like Rasmus.
Why this manager is still starting Rasmus ahead of him should be the head scratcher

Agreed we do seem to play better when he’s in the team.
Do you want a striker to score more than 20 goals or one that doesn’t kick the ball out of play?

This is how I feel about Zirkzee, in fact about many of our players. Probably a decent player, but I see him as a good squad player, rather than a first choice top player. So he could come in and do a good job, but wouldn't want him playing week in week out.
the squad seems full of these players, but very few top class ones.
We have ones that maybe could turn into something resembling top class, Zirkzee wouldn't be top of my list to be one of them.

I've said it for years but we have a squad full of squad players. We need three or four pretty much nailed on starters IMO to start to resemble a top team again.
If we are playing Zirkzee then we need genuine pace and/or legs alongside him. Perhaps next week, where Lyon may well sit in a bit more, we'd be well served with playing JZ up front with Bruno and Mount just behind?

Amazing that mate. is it any wonder we are 13th?
Play better is a massive reach too because we couldn't really get any worse. They both need to go back to Italy. They aren't good enough.

We could really do with getting Amad back asap as well. IF we do sneak through against Lyon it'd be great to have him back for the semi final at the start of May.
We really do need more players that are comfortable carrying the ball and beating a man.

Already kicking a ball in training this week so i think there's every chance he would be fit for the semi final should we make it that far.
I am slightly worried about second leg though. That moron in goal has given Lyon a huge lift as at 2-1 down coming to us they'd have been feeling downbeat.
When i didn't think i could hate ETH anymore.....it just starts all over again. What on earth was that guy on? Clearly a terrible judge of footballer.

I think both of us and a few others have said about how we seem to just have good squad players and Bruno.
I remember when Hojlund first arrived and wishful thinking was Martial, Rashy and him would be something in a couple of years time.
To a lesser degree it is now Nacho, Amad and Hojlund.
Right now, hand on heart, i think Amad 70/30 could make it, I'm about 50/50 on Nacho and about 20/80 on Hojlund, and I mean in terms of them being bonafide first team starters.
I don't feel Zirkzee would ever be a first team starter, but could be a good squad member.
Looking more immediately to next week, I think he will probably stick with the same team and hope we start in a different manner and with more gusto because we are at home.
But it's just good to have the likes of Mainoo, Mount etc available

We could really do with a refreshed forward line. A lot of the negativity would go if we had more effective players up front.
Next week I'd start Zirkzee and play Mount* and Bruno off him as I think we'd have more chance keeping the ball up there that way. I'd also bring Mainoo* back into the middle alongside Casemiro or Ugarte (I don't think we need both in there if there are 3 CBs behind).
*I'm accepting they may need to come off after an hour.

A very simplistic way to look at things. If the two duds you are passing to are likes of Rasmus and Garnacho, prime KDB assists stats would look diabolical in our team.

Scholay he’s a poor player. If you wanna see a quality new signing look at Marmoush. That’s the level
