Amorim

Does anybody out there understand his logic on constantly picking Hojlund ahead of Zirkzee?

Because I simply can't. I don't get it.

Everyone can clearly see that Zirkzee is the much better player and he definitely offers a lot more in our attack but Amorim seemingly doesn't see it like that.

Or perhaps it's the infamous "he trains better" nonsense excuse

When Hojlund first arrived I thought, we could have a very good player, and there were signs of that in his first season. But a mixture of the player himself, what is being asked of him and the struggles of the team means he has just been on a downward curve.

I like to believe there is till a good player in there, but it is hard to judge now how much is down to him and how much is down to what is happening around him,

That's why we need another experienced forward to take the pressure off him and truly see what he can do without being so heavily relied on - if he still isn't showing it, then yeah, we move him on

I was just typing a similar response and realised I’ve typed a really long statement. But basically it was what you just said.

Amorim isn’t good enough. I don’t know how many times I have to say it.

Too tactically inflexible to be a top manager.

I could be completely delusional in thinking that Hojlund could still be a good player for us, but there is just something that makes me think, how can he be this bad, surely there is something there that we haven't found the key to yet

Actually not sure we can really blame onana for the second goal. I’m one of his harshest critics but the ball was fired directly at him from close range, fast. That would have been hard to deflect left or right.

I don't think he rates either of them that highly tbh but this is what he inherited and has to work with.

Zirkzee clearly isn't an orthodox number 9 and is incredibly slow so I think that works in Hojlund's favour.

Let's not beat around the bush though. Rasmus has 4 PL goals. Zirkzee has 3. Marmoush only signed for City mid January and already has more than both of them.

They both need to leave. They are so far away from the great forwards we've had had over the last 30 years it's scary. Not even talking about RVN, Rooney, Cole and Yorke. They aren't even as good as Louis Saha, Diego Forlan or a past his best Edison Cavani.

One has had more than one season with us. Cost is significantly more!

It is Rasmus that needs shipping.

The lad has not even had a full season with us and he should be shipped. He has struggled like the manager has struggled. Should we ship the gaffer too?

Yes. ASAP

Both Hojlund & Zirkzee seem to perform better coming off the bench. That's probably no real surpise given Hojlund's age and Zirkzee being in his first season with us.Neither player is really making a case for starting.

I think Zirkzee benefits from defenders having Hojlund touch tight and looking to go in behind for 60-70 minutes and then coming on and picking up positions and space that the defenders haven't spent the prior hour sussing out and going into. And Rasmus benefits from it the opposite way round when he comes on.

The reality is we need a better striker from the start of games, as well as better quality attackers in general. If we had a front three of Cunha, Delap & Amad (for eg), that would suddenly look very exciting.

Not sure what the sudden obsession with Delap is all about tbh ... I've seen him a few times and he hasn't captured my attention if I'm honest.

Getting Delap will prove a poor signing. We need a proven goal scorer who has had multiple 20 plus goal seasons. It’s just naive to get another young striker who has no proven goal scoring record.

Delap isn’t particularly great but he’s scored 12 times for a struggling team. If we could get him for a bargain price , wouldn’t be against it
