some standout performances. Including the manager.
The whole team did the club proud, and some top performances from the likes of Bergvall, Porro, two CBs and especially Udogie. It completely vindicated Ange picking Udogie over Spence, who is an OK player, but Udogie is far better in my opinion. Amazing what having the best back four back all in tandem does to the performance and result. Over the two legs Spurs were absolutely worthy winners.
Spurs will now never have a better opportunity of reaching what will be the 7th European final of my lifetime, and I expect Spurs to reach the final, that is without disrespecting the opposition. Spurs will get the job done hopefully in the 1st leg.
Would be nice to get a settled side now before the 1st leg, but Ange may have to make some decisions on who to risk in the Prem. And frankly if Spurs finish 4th from bottom and win the Europa, who cares. Imagine that bottom four and qualifying for the CL. What would be the point of trying to finish top four anymore? More than one way to skin a cat.
Ange said you will have to put up with me for a bit longer. Not sure whether that was aimed at the press or some of the supporters. But he is absolutely right to be peeded off, with some sections of our fanbase. Two semi finals, only Arteta has done the same this season, and lots want him gone. They really are the toxic ones. I wouldn`t be surprised if he wins the Europa and then walks. Which would be tragic, and a sign of how football is going. Imagine that 1st trophy in nearly 20 years, 1st European trophy in over 40 years, and fans want him out. Hopefully Levy persuades him to stay on. Good times ahead next season under Ange in my opinion.

Do we not have the right to be peed off with our league performance this season?
Has that magically just all gone away?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We do. Unfortunately after scouring the internet and seeing on various Spurs channels a lot of fans seem to have forgotten this. Some embarrassing flip flopping going on.
If Ange can pick up the PL form from this point and go on to win the Europa, then he can stay. Those are my conditions.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Spurtle playing the victim now. Making out somehow that the league is still the important thing. No praise at all for Ange or the team for negotiating a very tricky away tie.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The meat and potatoes of the game is the league and the primary way to judge a manager is the league. Cups are a lottery relying often on the luck of the draw or just lucky events during the run. Arsenal won 4 FA Cups in a 7-year period between 2013/2014 and 2019/2020 season and it's hardly seen as some glory era. Your last manager to win a trophy, Juande Ramos, is hardly remembered fondly at Tottenham - nor the one before that, George Graham. Ange might just about redeem himself if he wins the entire thing (though frankly, the Europa has been very low quality this year), but if not, the notion that beating AZ Alkmaar, Eintracht Frankfurt (and most probably Bodo/Glimt) should be somehow definitive of your season while you languish in 15th in the PL seems rather unserious.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nah the league being won by one club like 7 of the last 8 years is as boring as feck. Winning Cups all day long over league.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
An Arsenal fan showing more reason and rational thought that one of our own. Everything that Sherriff has said is completely and utterly bang on.
Anyone with an ounce of intelligence knows that the league is the truest barometer for progress because you can't hide or get lucky. Then there's Sandy.

Yeh not like Fridge to agree with a Gooner. I think Fridge is closet Woolwich anyway.

Keith Burkinshaw had us relegated in his first season, then went on to win the FA Cup twice and, here it comes, the UEFA Cup. He's our second most successful manager and when I first started supporting THFC.
If Ange Postecoglou magically turned it around as such then I'd have a soft spot for him. Only then would he be who he would be. A winner in his second season. If we win this Europa Cup then hats off, he's a man of his word alright. Here's hoping...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Billy Nicholson finished 18th in his first season as well.
Fridge would have had him out of the door as well.

Yeh Conte, Jose and Nuno were all premature. Thankfully Levy seems to have learnt a lesson.

According to all match reports the win in Frankfurt was based upon sterling defensive play by Mickey VDV and your favorite CB, the great Christian Romero.
