Window may well the most important window to date for the Bohley - Clearlake ownership.
This window could been seen as the opportunity for the ownership to change course by adding the 3/4 experienced - quality players who could help the squad develop a strong & experienced spine from existing pool of players.
The squad currently is at 44+ players with 29 available/ 15 + out on loan.
Going forward, (historically) ideally the squad balance should be 25 players available, of which 2 are back up G/keepers + 4/5 youth u21 players. Leaving 17/18 squad players to navigate the season.
A healthy balance. Within this the squad needs a core spine of leaders & experience, players who can Inspire & motivate the young prospects.Players who can lead by example.
Based on these numbers the club has an excess of 19/20 players & within the 25 squad a % of players who are not the right fit, simply not good enough or questionable due to other factors, i.e vulnerable to injury or as in the case of Mudryk suspended.
The squad would greatly benefit by bringing in - 6 players- 6 players out. Within this number 3/4 of these players would ideally be experienced quality footballers opposed to youth prospects.
1 Goal keeper
2 Defenders - C/Back & a L/Back
2 Attacking wingers
1 Striker- a quality proven goal scorer
This takes the surplus to 25+ players who are 4sale or available to loan out. Currently the club has 15 players out on loan.
It may take a min of 3 seasons to move such a significant number of players on & benefit from the associated income required to develop the squad.
The club do have an opportunity within the next transfer window to learn from previous mistakes and to reset the direction for the 2025/26 season.
