A year too early?

Looking back I think it was possibly a good thing we didn’t go up last season. The heartbreak was real for fans, players, back room staff and owners but I really think it served to galvanise every single person at the club and every supporter in the ground.

Leeds were falling apart again - but all that did was make everyone want it much more this season!

They say failure makes you stronger (at least I think they do) and I have no doubt everyone will carry that strength into next season.

Players know that some will be moved on. The manager knows he has to get another 100% out of the ones who stay and the owners surely know that they have to spend wisely to stay up.

What a season we’ve had and what a season to look forward to!

Enjoy the second part of the ride 👍

What a ridiculous thing to bring into it

we wouldn't have bothered last year then?

Going up last year would have been better imo.
We would have had the whole summer to regroup from our blip with better players.
I feel we invested so much into Rutter and when he came good we had to sell him.
Same with Summerville.
Just like next year recruitment would have been the main issue.

There are some positives to going up this season over last. Farke has shown more as a manager and improved. We have Tanaka & Bogle now. Players like Rodon Piroe & Gnonto have improved.

But losing Rutter & Gray is huge. Rutter is at a level above what we are likely to be able to attract. Gray has the potential to far exceed the players we can afford to buy.

We have also spent another year losing money before player sales.

And our allowable losses have decreased due to another season in the Championship.

Can't see how the positives outweigh the negatives.

Spit, think on, you talk a lot of ridiculous as well, the board is full of it!..

Your opinion v mine, so, one thinks the other at fault, its all part of these boards, but I'll live with it!..

A ridiculous thought eh?..

Germany, sorry mate.. but it is rather ridiculous to bring in 'the fans have celebrated one of the best partys of their lives' as some form of defence for not going up last year..

I wasn't calling you ridiculous but come on ??..

of course we all say daft stuff Germany, I'm not for one second denying that but come on mate

And all I said is I agree with Stoopo on that it was better to go up this time than last, because of the simple reason the club is better prepared for this time than last!..

If we'd gone up last season the fans this would more then likely be in suicide mood now, because we would have had to spend more last season which would have made it very difficult for us to get what we should be able to look at this!..

Do you not think the club are better of this season then last?..

And I know if we'd gone up last season the fans would have celebrated, but I wonder if they would have celebrated like this, because looking on the internetty thing it looks like it'd take a lot of matching!..

No Germany, and I've given you my reasons above

Oh well, I agree with Stoopo and said why, so, no need going on!..

My main reason for saying we are better going up this season is because as a club - that’s owners, manager, players and supporters - we are all much more galvanised after the heartbreak of last season.

We seem to have shaken off that attitude that we know we will fall apart at the last hurdle. Everyone in the media and almost every other clubs fans thought (and probably hoped) we would.

I just think we are more prepared with a good nucleus of players who obviously “get” the club and its fans.

Had we kept the players we sold and gone up:

Was Cree any better than Solomon? Where is he anyway?

Would Archie have had the impact of Bogle or Tanaka (depending where he played)

Rutter is a great player but would he have made enough difference to keep us up?

I realise it’s all hypothetical but after the heartache of last season I think we’ve been treated to the best season for years. I know Bielsa got us up and made a great fist of things in the Prem but that was all on TV and none of us experienced what we’ve experienced this season.

Now let’s enjoy the next chapter and see if the lads can keep the drearies quiet for a few months at least 😏

couldn;t agree more Stoops

on reflection, tbf I get where you're coming from..

I just believe that an extra season in the premier league, is more lucrative than in the championship - just has to be logically surely?
