Some years ago, I visited the Tate Gallery in London and was overwhelmed by the brilliance of the art on display. Bacon, Dali, Picasso, Monet, Pollock and friends paraded their work in a mesmerising feast of colour and imagination. After an hour, I had to slow down. It simply wasn't possible to see their paintings, each of which had taken months or even years to construct, and understand what they were saying to me.
I recalled this event a couple of days ago after watching this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dfd42y2CsZc&ab_channel=LeedsUnitedOfficial
Afterwards, I felt that same sense of awe and amazement. 95 goals in 46 games. Thee more than the total scored by Southampton, Ipswich and Leicester in the Premier League, 29 more than our nearest rivals, Burnley. And what goals!
Not for us the kick and rush into the opposition box or the clustering assault on the goalkeeper from a long throw-in.
We got to savour Piroe's cruise missile exploding in Sheffield United's net. Was it as good as Tanaka's thunderblaster against Hull? Or DJ's rocket against the Pilgrims? Oh, we have been spoiled!
For pure beauty, Piroe's pass to Gnonto was more than a nod to our former Spanish maestro, it left his foot with the precision of a Japanese train, parting the countryside of the Bristol City defence to reach its destination, on time, where Gnonto slid it easily into the net.
We saw Bogle cutting through from the right and Firpo overlapping on the left, sometimes playing more of the game in the opposition half than their own.
We were masters of the counter-attack, a lightning strike into the underbelly of our our opponent, as Norwich discovered when a card-trick of passes on the right flank set James free to slide the ball in for Solomon to score.
We waited patiently as the team taunted Derby with one rapier pass after another, until Aaronson applied the final, merciful blow. We saw the ball drop from on high onto Ramazani's left foot where time stopped, the ball slid gently onto the turf, and the goalkeeper was still airborne when the ball nestled in the net. The back-summersalt was no more than we deserved. . And what of our crowning glory, when promotion had been secured, but we came back to collect the cherry on the cake in the 92nd minute of the final game of the season? Was there a more fitting moment to score a more fitting goal?
This is a mesmerising, intoxicating distillation of 100% pure Leeds United. There is a reason we finished 30 points ahead of the play-off positions, 95 of them right here. We are the best in this division by a distance and we did it in style.

watched the video again - great viewing to re-live some of those moments.. the first comment below the video tho I have to say I'm guilty of, and agree with this guy
"Its really easy to forget all that Aaronson does, but when you watch a video like this, you see he's involved in so many goals. He does get pushed off the ball too easily, we can all agree on that, but we don't give him enough credit for what he does do well, which is on display in this fantastic video!"
wonder what his future holds at Leeds?

Assists is the worst stat in football, it doesn't factor in contributions in build up. Aaronson has been lambasted for his lack of assists. For the record his expected assists is much better... it's not his fault if someone misses the chances he creates.
He covers more ground than anyone in the squad, something that is appreciated by coaches more than fans. His runs when we have the ball create space and chances for others, his pressing off the ball forces errors and wins the ball back. His deficiencies seem more obvious to people than his attributes.
Whether he's a good enough footballer to be effective in the PL is another matter but he's definitely been effective for us in the championship.

its my bad this I know, but I still can't take to him on a personal level... I just hope he keeps proving me wrong on the pitch and wins me over once and for all

and absolutely is mate, ever played fantasy football? - kin el, one of my players might run the whole legnth of pitch, flip ball over defenders head, back heel pass to a striker, striker then hit post, rebounds off keeper a 9rse and goes in... zero recognition or points
silly game anyway, always thought that

You are right, Aaronson pops up in a lot of the goals, but he is such a frustrating player. He's got terrific energy but his shooting is woeful and I don't think I have ever seen him head the ball.

Yep. Still too easily knocked off the ball for me (he’s improved in this, but not enough).

Don't agree with much on here about Aaronson.
When i watch back the games he doesn't press particularly well, loses and gets knocked off the ball constantly and has the worst shot on the team.
Hope we don't sign him because he couldn't hack it last time and he hasn't improved.

Sign him?
Problem is, we sell and it affects PSR, amortisation may offset though.
He's played a big part this season but can't see him in the EPL.
