Stewie Attwell and Jarred Gilett

Probably the 2 most incompetent refs going.

Incomprehensible how Attwell has a career after his horrendous mistakes over the years (came to fame for awarding a goal that went 10 yards wide), and has been demoted since his fast tracking to the Premier League. Yet he keeps coming back to the top level and is rewarded with the FA Cup Final.

Why the PGMOL brought Gilett over is beyond any reasonable thought process. Been absolutely useless from day 1 here - and wasn't very well thought of by Australian teams and fans before then. Cheated us a fair few times (will never forget him disallowing a Sokratis winner against Palace, coincidently). He was the man Howard Webb called up to get Saliba sent off against Bournemouth...

No surprise they made an absolute mess of the cup final. Just glad it was a cheating club like Manchester City at the wrong end of it this time.

Well done Crystal Palace - and Eddie Nketiah on his second FA Cup triumph and Matty Turner on his first.

State of the refs is shocking. Sooner theyre all replaced the better starting with webb.

Beggars belief how the best league in the world with the most money in it etc has probably one of the worst sets of refs. All the introduction of technology has done is highlight how truly clueless they are or worse corrupt. Either way bin the lot get collina or someone in to sort the mess and pay what it takes to get the best in the business in. Get rid of the mafia like run english pgmol bollox

The GK handball was madness. I was watching highlights and thought maybe they didn't have VAR for the game.

It's brilliant that it happened to City but still an absolutely awful failure by the VAR. Not even close to being a difficult call.

I don't understand why the ref wasn't given the opportunity to review the handball himself. On-field they obviously thought it was inside the box, once VAR has the evidence to prove it was handball then surely it becomes the refs call as to if it is a DOGSO.

I watched ITV, but turned over at HT and FT during breaks and Lineker twice said "obvious" isn't in the rules 😂 Strange.

Never watched it...City deserved to lose though, from what I saw

and VAR got slabheads disallowed goal right on Friday so i'm good

Mental isnt it, clearly an arms length outside the box handball, it just proves they still make decisions based on what they want or to protect the on field ref? Which if its to protect their mate on the field, why? No shame on him not seeing it from his angle and distance, use the technology to help him make the right call like its there for? You can't defend that, it has to be being done on purpose.

PGMOL and refs in this league clearly have agendas. Might not be club bias but certainly is ref bias. As i said mafia like run, immune to criticism do what they want no consequences or little.

Take the power away from them disband PGMOL and get people who have nothing to do with them running VAR and holding them to higher standards.

sick of calls to get rid of technology too, not technologies fault is it. Technology perfectly did its job showing there was a touch on the ball for the pen and the handball was clearly outside the box. Technology did its job, as i said even though its being abused its still highlighting the serious problems with referees in the league. Clubs and fans should focus on that and demand better standards from refs.

If there was no technology everyone would be saying how can an obvious handball be missed and asking why we don't embrace the technology available

Technology is hugely helpful here. It proves without doubt the refs are making very basic mistakes, often. Human error is perfectly natural, it will happen but too often we this incompetence at what should be the highest level.

We need more good quality refs and that won't come until there changes at the top of the PGMOL.
