two, the club now have to start looking forward with Ange. Starting Sunday by putting out the strongest available team for the Brighton match. I was happy for reserve sides in the Prem up to the final, but now that is done and dusted, back to full strength Prem sides. Yes it is the last game of the season, but I am at the match, and want to see Spurs go out with a convincing win, with much the same starting XI that lifted the Europa.
Looking forward then to next season, I think now the Trophy has finally been won, I except further investment and further trophies to follow. I would not be at all surprised next season, given a clean bill of health to the best players, if Spurs are not up and near challenging for the title. One or two new players purchased, and Spurs should be flying. The CL is nice, but expect a different approach next season, as Spurs are unlikely to be winning the CL, although you never know. And the Prem will no doubt take precedent. I cannot see Ange sitting on his laurels with his project. He will want more, and that will be more of the big prizes. He will want to be the first Spurs manager to deliver a title in over 65 years. I suspect that will be his ultimate aim now, with this young exciting squad.
He will see the way the final panned out, not pretty, but effective. And I suspect he will use similar tactics in the Prem with his best team on display in a fair few matches, to grind out wins next season.
As for the personnel. Their will be some departures, and some new players. Probably need a new goalie to challenge Vic, another CB if Romero goes, although I still think Draguson will come good. Another really creative midfield, and another top striker. That squad then needs to be trimmed down, so that every player in the squad is of a certain quality that can play a part if needed. Some of the younger players out on loan, to give them game time.
Oh yes, this is an exciting time to be a Spurs supporter, and I really do think Spurs will follow up the midweek success with further silverware over the coming few years. Football is cyclical, and now it is Spurs turn to have success. And Ange will be the man to take Spurs forward. He has shown that when he has his better players, especially defenders, he can navigate his way to success. He got the tactics absolutely spot on midweek, knowing he had such a lack of creativity to pick, because of injuries. He does have a Plan B, just needed to players available to be able to implement it.
Anyway next season for another day. Looking forward to being at WHL at the weekend, and cheering the boys on after their fantastic effort midweek. That is the least us fans can do. Get behind the team and the manager for one last game this season. Atmosphere is going to be really special, so let`s go out with a bang.
Spurs v Brighton 4-1 (I was close midweek, just a couple of goals out, but did say Johnson would score) Same again Sunday, Solanke 2, Johnson and Bentancur.

Sandy, I genuinely thought you were more intelligent than that. Was I wrong?

I am very intelligent thank you very much. I was the only o e on the board that called Spurs winning the Europa back in August
I like to nail my colours to the mask early. Always easy after an event. So I shall repeat, Spurs will be chasing the Prem next season. You then have over 12 months to think how you are going to apologise to me for being correct.

Still think Ange will walk.

He had better not. But you wouldn't blame him with some of our clueless toxic supporters.

Not a chance...He said himself he wants to stay and work with the players....He feels a strong bond with them.
